Body for Life Journey

Saturday

28 06 2007

I did a modified UBW at home and might go for a bike ride after my book group this afternoon. Now, at my book group there is usually pizza for lunch or something else yummy. I’ve only just had meal 2 and will take a sandwich and protein bar with me for meals 3 and 4. I may have a little of whatever the “something” is but that’s it. Tomorrow is free day and I’m wanting a good loss this week.

I ended up doing my LBW at home yesterday afternoon. Ate nice and clean. Finally rewarded with a drop on the scales this morning. Dd is home sick again so I’ll miss cardio - might try going for a bike ride later. Also have to cancel my facial which is dissapointing. Then the girls start winter school holidays so I’ll have them home for the next 2 weeks. Should be fine. When I attempted the challenge last year I started in these same school holidays. I’m one step ahead this year in that’s I’ve had 3 weeks of getting used to eating only every 2-3 hours.

Week 3 Day 4

28 06 2007

The scales have refused to budge all week but I’ve just kept going. I KNOW I am eating well and feel good for it too. Hopefully before too long the scales will reflect my hard work. I can see some difference around my waist so something is happening.

Thursday

It’s very wet and cold. I’ve got Amy home from school and not feeling the best myself. Can’t go to the gym obviously and was planning and doing LBW at home but might skip it. Straight after eating meal 1 I vomitted it all back up - was very strange as I’d been feeling fine until then. I’ve just had a light meal 2 and so far so good. Tummy feels a bit upset though. I’ll have a nice easy day at home reading up on BFL and helping keep myself motivated. I’m half way through week 3 and scales have yet to move from where they were at the end of week 1. It’s a bit disheartening but I just keep telling myself I’m feeling better and have more energy no matter the scales say (I know they are not my friend).

Life

A weekend away

26 06 2007

I had a lovely weekend down the coast with a group of girlfriends (and no kids or hubby’s). I scrapbooked and learnt to knit, chatted, ate, ate some more, and had a wonderful time. This was our third year and so much fun. The house is right on the beach so we can sit and watch the waves and dolphins (which we saw for the first time this year).

Unfortunately we had to come home and I found my house pretty much a mess. Luckily it didn’t take too long to get it back in shape.

Week 3 Day 1

25 06 2007

The week has gone pretty well. Went away to Culburra for the weekend so had a free weekend instead of free day. Enjoyed myself and don’t feel I ate overboard. Right back on tract with clean eating today. Not too sure what the scales will say tomorrow but I’m feeling good.

Week 2 Day 3

20 06 2007

My first full week was completed yesterday with a loss of 0,6kg. Not much it might seem but I’m happy with the changes I’ve made. I’m in control of food, have more energy, am sleeping better and am setting a good example for my family. Also a lot of what I’ve read suggests with BFL the changes happen on inside before you see them on the outside. Plus I know it’ll take my body a few weeks to realize I am serious about this way of eating.

Free Betty

19 06 2007

img_0453 Animal Australia’ s newest campaign is to save Betty and other battery hens. When I see my girls out in the garden I often think how lucky they are compared to their other feathered friends. If you aren’t lucky enough to have your own hens, please make sure you buy RSPCA approved or free-range eggs.

What the world eats

17 06 2007

I’ve had this book on my “to buy” list for a while - but I’m waiting for it to come out in softcover. In the meantime here’s where you can see some of the photos . I think it’s interesting how much/little some families had and the amount of fresh/whole foods compared to packaged/processed foods. It certainly makes you realize just how lucky we are. There is another book by the same photographers showing the contents of family homes around the world - I’m getting that one when I buy What the World Eats.

Week 1 weigh in

17 06 2007

Free day today- or rather relaxed day. Could be free day in that i’m free to indulge but NOT free to pig out. I don’t think I can trust myself to do that. And funnily enough I wouldn’t have wanted to today. Besides a couple of cookies at Disney on Ice and some ice-cream tonight I was pretty much on track - though not enough protein. One thing I think is good for me is still having 6 meals and not constant grazing. Today I found I didn’t even think about food until the normal 3 hour mark when I’d feel a bit hungry. I just feel SO GREAT at the moment. Scales down 0.6 this week.
