In the Garden

Finally got more seeds planted and put into our little green house. Lettuce and snow peas and something else (I think beans) have popped through in the garden. Here’s a couple of photos of our “yard” (the rest is the pool area and chook yard).

Feeling Good

16 08 2007

Well, today I’ve feeling rather good. Firstly, the scales were very kind this morning and show me at a new low weight. Secondly, I had a great lower body workout at the gym, then took Rosie on a walk for 25mins (feet a bit sore but heal was fine). Thirdly I tried on nearly all the clothes I have stashed away in tubs (only 3). A few Summer things almost fit and there are more that will fit by the time Summer arrives. I will a great Summer wardrobe - most things are as yet unworn as I never quite fitted into them (bought during the last 2 years) - but this year they will fit for sure. I’ve now completed nearly 10 weeks on BFL and feel so great. It is such a habit now to eat every 2-3 hours and I very rarely look for food in between those times. I’ve NEVER experienced hours of not thinking about food. It’s wonderful. I might even do measurements and photos this Sunday to celebrate 10 weeks. Then it’s just another 6 weeks till school holidays - when I’ll enjoy 2 “relaxed” weeks.

ME

My first EVER blog award

16 08 2007

I’ve seen all these awards floating around in blogland and now I have finally received one myself.

Nice+matters+2

The award was started by Bella-Enchanted

“This award will be awarded to those that are just nice people, good blog friends and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others that are there to lend support or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!”

Now, how’s that for a nice award to recieve!! I recieved it from a longtime internet friend, Kerrie

In turn I would like award the following. While I have quite a number of blogs I read on an almost daily basis, these are the ones (including Kerrie’s) that I check first.

Jumping on Beds - I recently found Annie’s blog and feel such a connection with her. She is such a fun and loving Mum.

Superfreak TV - fellow Body for Lifer - love the insight and inspiration I gain from her video blog. She’s a great caring animal lover involved in search & rescue.

Live Lightly Tour - I’ve been reading Sara’s other website for a while now but her family has recently hit the road for the Live Lightly Tour - she’s an eco-friendly vegetarian looking to live a sustainable life.

Feeling fat and frumpy

14 08 2007

Urgh!!! After feeling so good  how I’ve been eating and exercising I went shopping today. Seeing all the lovely summer clothes made me feel so fat and down because I know I won’t be wearing them any time soon. The weight is coming of so slowly and while I know it’s really a good thing (desperately want to avoid lose skin) it’s frustrating at the same time. Still I will keep going. Despite the frustration I don’t find myself wanting to eat the wrong things during the week.

Tests for Amy

14 08 2007

Amy had today off school. We were at the hospital at 8.30am for the first part of her bone scan (where they inject the tracer). She had a couple of quick “photos” then we were told to come back in a few hours. We then went for her blood test and then into town to do some shopping. I had to pick up my book for book group, we bought some kids craft stuff in Spotlight, stopped for a morning snack then headed back to the hospital. I read a scrapbook mag while the body scan was done - took about 50 mins all up. We then went back into town to do a bit more shopping (seems to be a bit of a theme around here lately) and have some lunch, then back to pick up Christy from school. It’s turned soooo cold here again - I need to go dig out my scarves that I’d just moved to the back of the shelf.

Getting in those workouts

13 08 2007

Wow, I can’t quite believe where I am mentally right now. Today I did my cardio - 20mins on the elipitcal (exhausted at the end of it). Then I realized I won’t get to the gym tomorrow for upper body (Amy has to have some tests) so decided to go in just before lunchtime (after cleaning the house). Had a great workout. Really enjoyed it today. Then at 2.45 I walked up to the school to meet the girls and we walked home - 15mins one way, and 20mins on the way back. My heel still feels good so that is great news indeed. Feel so proud of myself. I’m going to see if I can get to the gym again first thing in the morning and do some normal cardio - or else I’ll do a DVD at home. I’m determined to have a decent weight loss this week to celebrate 10 weeks doing BFL.

Week 9 weigh in

12 08 2007

Well, after a week I’m pretty happy with, I hoped on the scales this week to see a 0.2 gain. Usually this would send me off the rails but after last weeks loss of 2.5kg plus it being that time of month I’m really not worried about it at all. 0.2 is really not much and besides a couple of treats I shouldn’t have had I’m very happy with how the week went. I’m going to enjoy my free day (and my Dad’s birthday lunch) and have another great week. Yes, the weight loss has been slow but it’s been a very enjoyable journey so far (except for the week and half where I went off the rails and ate whatever I wanted). I’m much happier and have so much more energy. Life is GOOD!!!
