I wanna go

15 09 2007

 stacy

When I was at my LSS yesterday the owner was asking if I was going to KIWI scraps Crafting Connection in Sydney cause Stacy Julian is going to be there. I WANNA GO!!!! It’s on the 9-11th November and Amy has her singing and drama concert on the Sat night but I’m going to try to organise to go Friday night and Sat, or even just Saturday. Kevin is supposed to be going away that weekend so I’ll need to recruit Mum & Dad to look after the girls. I think this will be my early Christmas present to myself.

The best thing since sliced bread

is, of course, Google reader. Kevin set it up for me a few weeks ago after I complained about how much time it was taking me check all my favourite blogs each day. And I LOVE it. It’s saving me so much time at the computer - and giving me more time to scrapbook :-). And I still get to keep up with everyone’s blogs. If you don’t have it please go check it out.

Stampin’ Up Demo

14 09 2007

 img_3328

Had some friends over for a Stampin’ Up demo yesterday. We all made the above cards. It was lots of fun and I learnt a lot - not having done a lot of stamping before. And funnily enough I’m off to a similar party tonight at Leanne’s place. I ordered quite a bit, plus earned quite a few freebies. Can’t wait to get them and start playing.

No more tea bags

14 09 2007

A few weeks back we bought some Organic Fair Trade tea bags - they came without string - which I thought was a great idea. But after thinking about it some more I realized we didn’t really need to buy tea bags at all. I could use the new little tea pot that Kevin bought a few months ago. Then today I also found another little gadget Kevin had bought which will be perfect for doing my single cups of teas. Not sure if it’s all in the mind but a pot of tea seems to taste a lot better. And on an evironmental side I find I’m putting the loose tea into the tub for the worms rather in the tea bags going in the bin.

Kids

My Baby is 6

12 09 2007

Christy celebrated her 6th bithday on Sept 11. And frankly I don’t know where the time has gone. It’s pretty scary actually. In another 6 years I’ll have 2 teenage daughters. What fun that will be!!! Okay, I’ll be positive…what a challenge that will be :-).

She opened her presents in the morning and was very excited to get the Baby Alive doll that she asked for - it can drink and wee. She took a cake in to share with her class and then after swimming lessons we went out to Chili’s for dinner. Wasn’t the greatest night as we were all a bit tired but it still made her birthday a bit special - and her doll got to sit in it’s own highchair. img_3318img_3320

The Second Step

12 09 2007

Went to see my GP to get a referral letter for WLS. As soon as I said I was thinking of it she said she thought it was a great idea and would write a referral for Dr Talbot (who is the very doctor I already have an appointment to see). So I’m quite relieved she was all for it. Now I’ve just got to wait to next week to see Dr T and get the ball rolling. I’m very excited.

Christy’s Birthday Party

10 09 2007

We celebrated Christy’s 6th birthday yesterday (her birthday is on the 11th) with a party at home. We had 16 kids (13 girls and 3 boys) and a jumping castle to keep them entertained. We also had pass-the-parcel and pin the tail on the donkey and, of course, lots of party food. It was a lovely sunny day (after a week of rain) and Christy had an absolute ball.

I quite like this photo Kevin took of me in the kitchen - he was playing with his fish-eye lens.

Health & Fitness

Ouch!!!

9 09 2007

Oh, boy do I hurt! I did cardio followed by a pump class two days ago. I would have thought with all my normal weight lifting I’d only be a little bit sore with different exercise. Boy was I wrong. Yesterday my triceps and biceps hurt plus my quads, and today my triceps are still sore. I guess even though the weights are lighter than what I normally lift, the faster speed and more reps really gets to you. I did enjoy the class for a change but not two days of pain….
