Clean Eating

While sitting at the computer and eating my very yummy salad for lunch I stumbled across a new magazine called ” CleaningEating”. My links aren’t working but you can find it at http://www.cleaneatingmag.com . It looks great and I can’t wait for my first issue to arrive. It was developed by the same people who publish Oxygen so it should be a good read.

Another milestone reached

Well, it was with much excitement that I shopped in the “normal size” section today. I’m down to a 16-18 in plus sizes so thought I might be shortly fitting into normal sizes. Well, not shortly, but RIGHT NOW!!!! I still can’t believe it. It has been a long, long time since I fell into the “normal” body range. In fact one pair of jeans I tried on were too tight in the legs (not suprising) but a bit too loose around the waist. I bought 2 pairs of pants for when we go away in April (since I’ll still want summer clothes but the shops will be full of winter clothes) and they already fit, albeit snuggly. Had quite a few compliments on my weight loss yesterday as most of the Mum’s hadn’t seen me for 5 weeks. I also bought a really purple nice jacket for winter - 20% off (since I have NO Winter clothes to wear). I bought the size 18 (in normal sizes) but it is too big. Will need to take it back and get a 16, or maybe even a 14, since I won’t be needing it for quite a few months.

Kids

Back to school

Both girls were up bright and early, eager for their first day back at school. I had uniform shop on so we left just after 8am - normally it’s closer to 8.45. The girls both have new school bags - I think Christy’s is way too big for her but she insisted on having that one - we’ll see how it goes…

I got home around 9.30am and was really a little bit lost. I cleaned the bathrooms, did the paperwork for Uniform Shop, checked blogs, had lunch, did some scrapbooking, cooked dinner, visited my Grandmother, etc, etc… I can see it’s going to take a little while to get back into routine. I think Rosie was a bit lost too and wondering where the girls were. Picked them up at 3pm and both are pleased with their new classes - though Amy is yet again without any of her “friends”.

Ready to get back to healthy eating

29 01 2008

Well, while our meals have remained pretty healthy we’ve started to slip into “holiday” mode with biscuits, chocolate, ice-cream, etc. Only a little bit (since that’s all that fits in our small stomachs) but still not the best things to be having for snacks. I’ve gone through the pantry/fridge and we’ve used up the last few “treat” foods over the last few days and I DID NOT buy any more today. I’ve got my dinner planned out and tomorrow will do some work on lunches - now that the girls will be back at school I can just have a salad or veggie stir-fry for lunch.  I’m still losing weight and have restarted the Body for Life exercise program. I have LOADS more energy than I did before and still find I’ve got some left at the end of the day - which is a real novelty.

Another day at the beach

28 01 2008

Went down to beach again yesterday morning - and this time Kevin came with us. The girls had fun, we all had a swim and Christy got dumped while SITTING on the sand playing - I still can’t believe how much sand she had in her hair.

Australia Day

26 01 2008

We had a VERY quiet Australia Day this year. Usually we do lunch with Mum & Dad but they are off in their caravan to attend a wedding. Instead I went to the gym, did the groceries, tidied my desk,

img_4670  img_4743

did some work for my BPS organising class with Wendy and did a layout for the class

img_4733img_4731

took my photo of the day - CHOCOLATE! Actually didn’t think I had much in the house until I went searching…

Kevin added an extension to our chook mansion before going into work. They now have a nesting box and some of the chooks have already used it (so Kevin is feeling pretty pleased with himself), and the girls will now be able to collect the eggs.

Amy decided she wanted to learn to iron so she had her first lessons. She did great, ironing all her and Christy’s clothes.

Our only bit of celebration happened at dinner when we had a BBQ with damper and lamingtons.

So a lazy but rather satisfying day. We ended the day watching The Three Musketeers - but somehow we just ended up watching the second half - suprisingly it still make sense and we didn’t realize until the credits started rolling after just 45mins :-). We then watched the first half of Harry Potter VI and will finish watching tomorrow night.

A photo a day

25 01 2008
Another challenge that seems to be doing the rounds in scrapbooking circles is that of taking a photo a day for a whole year. I decided to join in about a week ago when I came across 365 days http://scrappingangelsuk.typepad.com/365_days/ where Anna giveesa daily prompt for a photo. Here’s my collection so far.

Day 24 - Lucky (this is where I get to go for my morning walk)

Day 23 - Close up (my old Goldie Belle)

Day 22 - There’s no place like home
img_4685

Day 21 - Food is an important part of a balanced diet (our organic groceries that had just been delivered)
img_4674

Day 20 - Smile

Day 19 - Up close and personal

I might try and go back and do some of the older prompts - will see how I go.
