I’ve been tagged

I’ve been tagged by Belinda - whose blog I’ve only recently come to know and love

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
Each player answers the questions about themselves.

At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

a) What was I doing 10 years ago?

This time 10 years ago I would have been on holiday with dh in Scotland (see above photo). Waiting back home was my job as an office manager, and my 2 golden retrievers.

b) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today:

- Take girls to drama lessons

- Make pumpkin & ricotta lasagne for dinner

- Do a load of washing

- Buy some bread (still not having much luck on the homemade front) and exchange a book

- Go to my romance readers group meeting

c) Snacks I enjoy:

At the moment I am mad for the new Honeycomb Tim Tams.

d) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Buy a house with more land (for all our animals), have an annual overseas vacation

e) Places I have lived:

Sydney and Wollongong

I’m not really sure who likes being tagged, so if you do please join in - it was fun and only took a few minutes

My comedian

Christy is certainly the family clown. She loves making people laugh. This night she came out wearing her stockings on her head. She’s a bit of a strange one, our Christy :-).

The result of ME day

28 05 2008

Well, ME day went quite well - though wasn’t really very long as once I leave to get the kids from school at 2.30pm it’s kind of over. I ended up cleaning out the doll nursery under the stairs after getting inspired watching Perfect Housewife. Later I watched another episode while doing some knitting. That was it really. It’s 6pm and I’m off to finish off dinner then will watch a bit of TV once Kevin gets home. Tomorrow I’m on Canteen so I won’t have any ME time. Still have not opened the Strength for Life book…..

Here the nursery before

And after. Christy helped me sort through which clothes to keep in the drawers when she got from school.

The basket carnival

basketc

Well, as many of you know I’m rather into organising, and baskets, so how could I not join in Laura’s basket carnival. Many of the picture regular blog readers will have seen before. I DID NOT tidy before taking the photos - as you can tell. One thing I realized while doing this is that I really do need MORE baskets.

Firstly my desk cupboards, which I reorganised last week.

Our coffee table baskets - one has magazines, the other has knitting. On the other side are another 2 baskets for the girls stuff.

Our medicine cupboard - which needs reorganising and labels

Baskets in the family room for kids stuff, blankets and things for the guinea pigs (whose cage is right beside this)

These baskets are under our bird cage. The left one is full of Rosies toys, the other two are for the girls school stuff.

Baskets/tubs in Christy’s wardrobe - obviously needs another going through.

And finally baskets in the spare room with presents/ wrapping paper/stationary. Again, I could use some labels.

ME, makes me happy

Taking a ME day

28 05 2008

My creation

Not sure why but I’ve been in a bit of a slump this week. The kids, especially Christy, have been a bit difficult this week and I’ve not been sleeping well - keep on waking up, drifting off, waking up, you know that horrible sleep. Kevin thinks it might from not going to the gym - and it might - but I figure with all the walking I’m still getting a good amount of exercise - and it’s outdoors in the fresh air - so it should help me to sleep even better. Who knows…..

Anyway, I’ve decided to post some more flikr photos that make me happy and have a ME day. I’m not really sure quite what that entails as I’ve never had one before. But other than essential jobs needing done I plan on doing purely what I FEEL like doing (not what I should be doing). Firstly I’m off to watch an episode of the Perfect Housewife. Then I might start of my new Strength for Life book…. or I might not….

Happy Birthday to Rosie

27 05 2008

img_0374

Our Rosie turned 2 today. We had a little party for her this afternoon (in amongst a stressful afternoon with the girls - why is it when you try do something fun for them they muck up?). Rosie seemed to enjoy the attention - and her cake.

This is the mess I came home to last night. I think she was celebrating her last day as a one year old. Me, I wasn’t impressed as I’d just cleaned this room and getting straw off carpet is rather hard.

And finally, a face you just have to love.

Health & Fitness

They arrived just in time

These books that is. For some unknown reason I have had no desire to go the gym and, in fact, haven’t been in nearly 2 weeks. I had planned to go today but didn’t want to, then kind of ran out of time, so missed again. Not quite sure what’s going on with me. I was really loving my new program.

I think I need to rework my housework routine and clean two days and do gym two days. I find if I clean first, like today, I don’t feel like going to the gym, and if I workout first I’m pretty exhausted for the next hour and don’t want to clean. I tend to only clean in the morning so if it’s not done by lunchtime it doesn’t get done.

Plan to start reading these books tomorrow and hope they give me back some desire to get to the gym. I know I’ll love it once I’m there - I always do - just can’t seem to get myself there. Today I was feeling guilty about not doing any exercise until I realized I walked the kids to and from school - which means I got an hours walk in :-). We’ve been walking home EVERY day so I’m getting a minimum of a half hour walk plus cleaning and stuff around the house. But I need to keep up the upper body workouts before I start to lose STRENGTH.

Weekend round-up

26 05 2008

img_0339

Had a nice, but busy weekend. On Saturday the girls had drama, then Amy had two birthday parties to attend in the afternoon. I pottered around a bit and finish off this little album that I started on Friday afternoon. I love how it turned out - and it’s something very different for me -but was really oh, so, easy - which really is me.

Kevin was away Sat and Sat night - he wanted to try out camping with the motorbike - he was very cold and I don’t think too impressed. The girls and I went with Mum & Dad to have a look at a caravan park for us to stay at in the October school holidays. It looks very nice, has a kids club and is only 30mins from home. The girls can’t wait.

Afterwards we had a nice lunch in Gerringong.

img_0346

Then had a look through some shops - Mum & I found these wonderful goodies at a cute little shop - couldn’t believe how cheap things were. We did buy more but some is for my birthday next week.

Mii figures

Here’ is our wii family - cute aren’t we? They make these little models based on your weight and height and you pick facial features.

For your laughing pleasure are a couple of photos of us playing wii fit. We’re all loving it - it’s a not great workout for me(compared to the gym) but it sure is fun. Kevin was a bit annoyed that my wii fit age was 28 and his was 47 :-) - we are both 36.
