Getting in those workouts

13 08 2007

Wow, I can’t quite believe where I am mentally right now. Today I did my cardio - 20mins on the elipitcal (exhausted at the end of it). Then I realized I won’t get to the gym tomorrow for upper body (Amy has to have some tests) so decided to go in just before lunchtime (after cleaning the house). Had a great workout. Really enjoyed it today. Then at 2.45 I walked up to the school to meet the girls and we walked home - 15mins one way, and 20mins on the way back. My heel still feels good so that is great news indeed. Feel so proud of myself. I’m going to see if I can get to the gym again first thing in the morning and do some normal cardio - or else I’ll do a DVD at home. I’m determined to have a decent weight loss this week to celebrate 10 weeks doing BFL.

Week 9 weigh in

12 08 2007

Well, after a week I’m pretty happy with, I hoped on the scales this week to see a 0.2 gain. Usually this would send me off the rails but after last weeks loss of 2.5kg plus it being that time of month I’m really not worried about it at all. 0.2 is really not much and besides a couple of treats I shouldn’t have had I’m very happy with how the week went. I’m going to enjoy my free day (and my Dad’s birthday lunch) and have another great week. Yes, the weight loss has been slow but it’s been a very enjoyable journey so far (except for the week and half where I went off the rails and ate whatever I wanted). I’m much happier and have so much more energy. Life is GOOD!!!

Sunday freeday

11 08 2007

Urgh!! I can’t believe how full I felt after the birthday lunch at my Dad’s. I did eat more than I would have liked - cause the food was sooo yummy - but I don’t think I ate”that” much - even Mum didn’t think I’d eaten too much. But obviously it was WAY more than I’m used to eating at one meal. Definitely won’t be doing that again in a hurry.

Great workouts

11 08 2007

Had a great workout at the gym this morning. Did lower body, then 10 mins on treadmill and 10min on rower. Also rode to school and back twice, plus to the park. I nearly missed yesterdays cardio cause Kevin went to the work early but since my heal has been pretty good I decided to try the Walk Away the Pounds 3-Mile DVD that I used to do. Feel like I still got a good workout and my heal was fine.

Have found a few little treats creeping into my diet the last couple of days but I’m hoping all the extra exercise will offset that. I’m not looking for a big loss tomorrow (not after last weeks outstanding result) but it would be good to see a small loss.

Week 9 Day 4

9 08 2007

Another good day. Cleaned house this morning finally getting to the gym around 11.45am. Changed my routine for upper body so I’m sure I’ll be sore tomorrow. Did upright rows for shoulders and boy could I feel it though it didn’t seem very hard. Most odd.  Also took Rosie for a quick run/ride. Tomorrow I’m going to the movies and out for lunch. The plan is to have a protein bar and a diet coke. Lunch will no doubt be determined by whatever vegetarian choices are available. Oh, dear, just realized I’m also going out for dinner with Kevin. We’ll probably do Indian and I always have vegetable korma so that’s not too bad.

Week 9 Day 3

8 08 2007

Not much to report this week. Getting in all meals (though did miss one while on Canteen today). Missed lower body yesterday. Scales are up but I refuse to pay any attention to them. I know I’m doing well and the gain is either leftover from free day or because that time of month is approaching. I am however crossing my fingers that I see a nice number on Sunday.

Week 8 Results

6 08 2007

Wow, had a great week. Followed BFL really well. Got in 6 meals every day - love my ricotta desserts - and only missed one cardio session (Kevin had to leave for work at 5am). And the result - a loss of 2.4kg (5.3lbs). I even stepped on the scales a second time to make sure I had read it right. And I did. I don’t know the last time I lost that much weight in one week. I have now lost all the weight I regained in weeks 5 & 6 plus some more. I’m hoping for another great week ahead.

Week 8 Day 4

2 08 2007

Wow, can’t believe I’m already on week 8 of the body for life challenge. I had a very active morning. Rode the girls to school, came home and tidied and cleaned upstairs (stopping only to have my mid-morning protein shake) then ran a few errands and went to the gym for my lower body workout. Now I have to confess I think about not going as I was already feeling tired and it was after 12pm but I went, then I remembered I had to take Rosie for her run (I ride) so I did that, came back and bathed the dogs. I’ve just had my shower and some lunch and I’ve got about an hour before I have to ride back up to the school. And boy, and I tired. But I feel good!!! I can’t believe how much energy I’ve gotten since eating clean and working out 6 days a week. Life is good!!!!

Day out success

1 08 2007

Went out shopping to Miranda. Now normally when we go I buy a few goodies that I can’t get locally. Today. Nothing at all - didn’t even particularly want anything (mind you if had been free day I would have indulged). I had a falafel wrap for lunch and then bought a skim iced chocolate to have on the way home. I felt so proud of myself.

While shopping I bought myself two skirts and a couple of tops - can’t wait to wear them. I’m not planning on buying too many clothes at present cause I have heaps waiting in smaller sizes plus I don’t quite know how much weight I will lose and at what rate. I’m hoping to have lost 10kg (or 22lbs) by the beginning of October. That will have me a weight I haven’t been in about 15 years.

I got in my 20 cardio on the eliptical this morning. Going to sit and read the Eating Clean Diet by Tosca Reno (my reward for 4 weeks of clean eating) then enjoy a nice salad for dinner (since it’s been such a warm day).

Tuesday Morning

3 07 2007

Monday went pretty well. I was rather hungry though - not sure if it was doing cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning (not my normal routine) or it was carryover from free day or it was just one of those days. I managed to make it through okay but it was the first day in a long time I’d felt like that. Okay, where I’d like to be at the end of this challenge. This is where I have a lot of trouble. Having been overweight so all my adult life I have trouble imagining myself thinner. I would like to lose around 20lbs and be a size smaller in clothing. I know part of my problem has always been the amount of weight I have to lose
