We had to wait till around 8.30pm so it was dark enough to see the screen. The plan had been to watch from in the pool but it was a little on the cool side. Only Amy was brave enough to start off in the pool.

Ideally we’d have some pool floats so you don’t actually spend the whole time “in” the pool. Looks like we also need some more lounge chairs.

We watched about half of Aladdin before the mozzies chased us indoors. It was definitely a fun event, we just need a few more supplies…. like citronella candles…and some popcorn!

A bit of a sleep in again this morning but I didn’t miss the sunrise as it was a bit cloudy today. And in case you were wondering about the eggs and the ugly chicken – here it is in all it’s glory (one eye and all).

Unfortunately Amy started complaining of a sore ear yesterday afternoon so we went to the medical center (right downstairs) when they opened at 9am. As we expected she has an ear infection.

Then it was off to Pacific Fair for some fun girly shopping. First stop was Colette – have seen this shop before but we loved it.

where Amy got some new PJs and Christy got some cute slippers.

There was also Esprit; Bed, Bath & Table (more Easter goodies); L’occitane (for a restock of skin care product – also scored LOTS of freebies); and the girls visited Diva. Then it was back to the car to drop off all our bags.

Then it was time for our date with Justin Bieber.

I didn’t know at lot about Justin Bieber. In fact, when I first heard about him and Amy told me the song he sung I was surprised because I had thought it was sung by a girl . Anyway, the movie really was fabulous. The boy really has got talent and has worked hard for his success. At this stage he still seems like a real nice kid so it will be interesting to see how fame effects him. So wouldn’t wish his life on anyway – fabulous as some parts would be, so many obsessive fans would have be very daunting, and a little frightening. The girls enjoyed the movie too and while Amy was already a fan, Justin acquired two more fans today .

Then it was time for some shopping. You know I was excited when I spotted this .

Christy and I both scored some new crocs.

Then time for a late lunch – it was 3pm. I always go to a great salad place here but it was closed. My sadness disappeared when I spotted Salsa’s.

Amy and I shared the vegetarian tacos and cheese quesidillas. Both were so yummy.

More shopping – trying to get Winter clothes for both the girls. We didn’t buy the ear muffs for Christy, cute as they were…

but we did buy this for Justin’s newest fan .

We finally left just on 5.30pm and got to see a rainbow and a lovely sunset.  It was a great day but Amy was a bit hormonal and Christy grumpy at times so it was a bit up and down. And I did not expect us to be gone ALL day so we were all complaining of sore feet.

After resting my feet for a bit I prepared a quick and easy dinner of pasta with a bought tomato sauce.

Later we enjoyed some ice cream while watching Matilda – one the girls favourite movies.

Tomorrow : An easier day (I hope) – packing, swimming and maybe a short to Sea World.

I spent yesterday putting away all our Christmas decorations (and returning the house to normal) and then cleaning up the fridge, which I restocked today. We’re having friends for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so it will no doubt be empty again in a few days. I’m being pretty lazy with the food this time around – having a BBQ, a couple of home made dishes and a REAL easy desert. My Perfect Housewife DVDs turned up so Amy and I have been watching them when time permits – she’s decided she’s going to be the perfect housechild – we’ll see…. so far so good. Even if your house is tidy and organised (mine is pretty much) I still find the show very inspiring. What I still need to work on is the detailed cleaning. I certainly wouldn’t pass her white glove test…..

Took the girls to see Enchanted – what a wonderful movie – we all loved it and it was first movie that Christy has actually sat through without getting bored.

Now, I’m back from the gym and checking e-mail again and now I find out Ricky Martin’s concert CD and DVD is going to be out in a few days. Looks awesome (there is a preview on the website) and oh, boy, what a yummy cover (would like great on the cover of a romance novel).

Gee, can’t wait to check my e-mail again this afternoon. Don’t good things come in threes?

Kevin and I finally got our very overdue date night. We had a quick dinner at the Noodle Box (my favourite takeaway place – though we sat outside in the cold) then went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Was a great movie. I love seeing how much older all the kids are each movie. I’m about 5/6th through listening to the book so the end was still a surprise. I was already thinking about the book (since I’ve been listening to it for about a month in the car) but now I can’t stop thinking about it. I read a lot of people complained about how so much was missed out but I think they did a pretty good job considering they had to fit everything into less than 2.5 hours.

Well, I cannot believe I had never heard of William Wilberforce whom the movie Amazing Grace is all about. I finally went to see this movie with my Mum yesterday and we both learnt a lot. Firstly I hadn’t realized how involved with slavery Great Britain was (guess it’s not something they brag about), secondly I did not know about William Wilberforce (who not only led the fight to abolish slavery but was instrumental about reforms for animal welfare and educations and many other important facets of life), thirdly I did not know that it was a ex slave ship captain turned Preacher who wrote Amazing Grace (I song near and dear to me with having Scottish blood and a Grandmother called Grace). It’s definitely a movie anyone interested in history should see. And although it tells some of details of slavery nothing graphic is shown and even the reports on it are pretty mild – the movie is rated PG. Oh, and to make things even better there is a little romance and a happy ending. This is one movie I’ll be thinking of for a number of days.
