After umming and ahhing the last month or so I finally decided to sign up for Cathy’s scrapbook class Design Your Life. Hope to learn more about design and becoming more of a confident scrapbooker. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute - class start tomorrow. I’m also signed up for May’s Recipes for Success class so that should keep me out of trouble for a while, on top of finishing off our Outback trip album. Of course, signing up for the class also meant I had to order some more supplies…..

Not much to report this week. I’ve been busy with the normal household jobs plus getting organised for our vacation. We leave tomorrow straight after school. We’ll be staying in my parents van down the coast at Gerroa. It’s only a 40min drive so very close to home.
So today I just wanted to share some recents layouts. The first one is Christy’s birthday, the other two are Easter layouts for the girls albums - trying to get them a bit more up-to-date. I am SOOOO enjoying my new photo printer.

Family Day Out, Life, Scrapbooking
I had a really great Sunday. We started off the morning with a family walk down to the lake. I was inspired by Gretchen’s putt putt layout and started to make when we got back. It’s the first time EVER I have scrapbooked photos taken on the same day. Annie you are right - it was so fun!!
Kevin was wanting to do something today. That was fine with me but it was too nice a day to spend indoors either shopping or going to the movies. I suggested we go to Kiama - a seaside town about 30mins away. Then I remembered it was market day so that’s what we did. We packed some lunch which we enjoyed sitting on the grass. The girls went on some rides and visited the petting zoo and we wandered through the stalls buying a few bits and pieces. I was rather pleased to be able to buy some more seedlings for the veggie garden. Such a good idea - you buy a punnet and can fill it with whatever seedlings you like. So much better than better 6 of one plant. It was such a beautiful day to spend outdoors. And funnily enough we realized we last went to the markets here in Sept last year. When we came home the girls had a swim, I planted my seedling and finished off the scrapbook page. We then watched Camp Rock. Kinda cute but I don’t think quite the league of High School Musical.
Aren’t those cupcakes the cutest? Almost too nice to eat. Lucky they tasted as good as they looked.
Isn’t this chook beautiful? I think I might get some of those next time.

Been busy with Bailey and blogging over at Happy to be Home this week, but I wanted to share some recent layouts. Some are for my Have More Fun class. Lots of bright colours at the moment - even the ones not for the class.
The following one I did yesterday. I wasn’t too sure about it at the time but I think I like it now.

I have less than 48 hours to decide if I’m going to go to Heidi Swapp’s Create 08 classes in December. I’d love to go, the main problem is it’s in Brisbane or Melbourne. I decided on Brisbane cause I’d get to meet Chanel, whose blog I read. I had initially thought I’d just fly up and back the same day but since it starts at 8.30am and I have no idea where I’m going I think I’d have to stay over the night before. So now I’m up for the cost of the classes - $240 (loads of goodies included), air fare (hoping to get a cheap rate), parking at the airport, car hire in Brisbane and accomodation. Hmm….. typing all this out I’m thinking it’s really going to cost a bit too much.

I’ve actually had these up for a week now. My Dad was kind enough to put them together for me. And I LOOOOOVE them. They look great and hold so much. The ladder is especially cute don’t you think?
Now I just have finish off getting my photos organised and practice keeping my desk clear….
Here’s a couple of layouts I’ve done the last week. I was going well but today… oh, boy - took over an hour to do a simple layout that I’m not that happy with.
Here’s my most favourite recent layout - got the idea from a 6×4 photo idea book.
And finally my egg carton for BPS A Baker’s Dozen class - this is so much fun. And it’s not too late to join in.

Gee, no forgetting your age when you have a Wii fit :-).
We were out last night to celebrate my friends Sam’s birthday. It was a great night and so good to see both her (and Sue) again. I used to see these girls on a weekly basis at playgroup and I do miss their company. Lucky for me I’ll be going away with them for the weekend in just a couple of weeks.
This morning I opened some presents from the girls - a bike helmet and some gloves.
After the school uniform shop I made some anzac cookies and took them (and some eggs) to my friend Kay who has been really ill for the last few weeks. It was very nice to catch up and sit and chat. I don’t do it often enough and really need to make more time for my friends.
After lunch I managed to scrapbook a few pages.
After school we had a birthday afternoon tea at my Mum’s. It was extra nice as both Kevin and my Dad were there.
Tonight Kevin was a real sweetie and went out in the rain to get me some rice paper rolls for dinner. We then watched a couple of episodes of Jimmy’s Farm. So it was a very nice birthday indeed.
Hmm..I wonder if the wii fit is trying to tell me to get my butt to the gym…

Life, Scrapbooking, Uncategorized

Had a nice, but busy weekend. On Saturday the girls had drama, then Amy had two birthday parties to attend in the afternoon. I pottered around a bit and finish off this little album that I started on Friday afternoon. I love how it turned out - and it’s something very different for me -but was really oh, so, easy - which really is me.
Kevin was away Sat and Sat night - he wanted to try out camping with the motorbike - he was very cold and I don’t think too impressed. The girls and I went with Mum & Dad to have a look at a caravan park for us to stay at in the October school holidays. It looks very nice, has a kids club and is only 30mins from home. The girls can’t wait.
Afterwards we had a nice lunch in Gerringong.
Then had a look through some shops - Mum & I found these wonderful goodies at a cute little shop - couldn’t believe how cheap things were. We did buy more but some is for my birthday next week.

Some more layouts to share today. As I said, I’m on a real roll.
First up is this weeks Scrap Happy’s 30 min Thursday Challange. The challenge was to scrapbook your favourite book and include some journalling lines. I had these little book cards which I though most appropriate.
Next up was a layout for the 28 days class using a memory spark and a sketch. I chose shopping - thought it pretty appropriate at this moment in time :-).
Last up I REALLY wanted to use this very yummy making memories paper. Didn’t need to do much besides add the photo and a few embellishments.
