Nelson’s Bay Holiday

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

We arrived in Nelson’s Bay in time for lunch. Since we couldn’t get into our apartment until 2pm we went to a local cafe, overlooking Little Beach.

We had a lovely meal and the girls were very well looked after.

The girls had a play at the park and at 2pm we went to get our keys. We’ve been staying at this same apartment complex for the last 7 years but we’re in a different apartment this time. This is the view we’ll be enjoying.

After unpacking the car Mum & I went to get some groceries (Dad took the girls for a swim in the pool). We relaxed  a bit and enjoyed dinner sitting on our deck.

Today Amy & I were up early and went for a walk. It’s nice to be up before the crowds and before it gets busy.

We had  relaxing morning and around 11am went down to the beach for a few hours. The girls had fun and I sat on the beach reading.

Unfortunately Amy kind of lost it on the way back and sent me into a bad mood for much of the afternoon. I read, Dad took them to play a bit of golf and later for a swim. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Twitter and Facebook

Monday, December 29th, 2008

After just discovering I wasn’t yet “friends’ with Tina on Facebook I thought maybe there were some other friends and readers that I hadn’t hooked up with yet. So you can find me here on Face book and here on Twitter.

BFL – Week 5, Day 1

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Well, needless to say with being on holidays I have been in holiday eating mode – so basically whatever I want. This has included way to many biscuits – i just cannot seem to control myself with them. The only saving grace has been we’ve had all healthy meals. But NOOOOO exercise, except for one walk. Pitiful isn’t it? I had such good intentions. I did manage to hop on the scales yesterday morning when we were at home and have gone up 0.7kg, which is probably not too bad considering.

I’m looking forward to getting back into my clean, healthy eating again, and of course, hitting the gym. Only 11 weeks to Christmas and I am determined to be slimmer than I am now. It’s been great being away and feeling “normal”, so I can only imagine how great it must be to feel “slim”.

mpm

Last week I ended up making two new recipes on Sat and Sun night. I had a TVP chow mein (from a packet mix), which we didn’t enjoy, and vegetarian potato kugal which was absolutely delicious. We leave on Friday for vacation so I need to do a bit of planning for that as well.

MONDAY: Homemade Pizza (Amy’s request)

pizza

TUESDAY: Vegetable & Ricotta Cannelloni (new recipe)

WEDNESDAY: Veggies with cheese sauce

THURSDAY: Vegetable Pie

From Friday : On vacation . I  have quite a few meals in the freezer to take with us, the others will be quick, easy to make meals like nachos, wraps, salads, etc.

BFL – Week 3, Day 1

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

I’m VERY excited about my weight loss this week. After losing NOTHING last week, this week I was down 2kg (4.4lbs). I’m so happy and excited. We leave on Friday for our vacation so I’ll weigh in again then. But already knowing the scales are reflecting what I know is happening will be a real motivation while I’m away.

I reached another milestone – when converting my weight into pounds I’m now under 200lbs!!!! 198.7 to be exact.

Body for life : Week 2, Day 6

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

It’s finally happening. The scales have finally been moving downwards. I think every day this week they have moved a little. I’ve been getting in all my workouts and eating pretty clean. I have so much more energy which is great. And after my clothes shopping success yesterday I’m feeling pretty good about myself. With the weather finally warming up I know Summer is on the way (not the mention we’re off to the beach for a weeks holiday next Friday) and I’m pleased to know I’ll be looking and feeling my best this year.

This is it – Day 1

Monday, September 8th, 2008

This is it is what I’m calling this challenge. My final journey to my goal weight. I am committed and focused and ready to go.

This morning I got up and went to the gym for my 20min cardio workout on the elliptical. I felt a little sick by the end so know I must have worked hard. Later I walked Christy to school (30min return trip) and later will ride back to pick her up. Meals have been planned and I’ve updated my Body for life tracker to keep me “on track”. I’ve also put my before photos on tracker. Pretty scary still but soooo much better than when I last did BFL.

Todays plans are a washout

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Well, I had planned to spend time outdoors today. After it rained nearly all week, yesterday was lovely, bright and sunny. Alas we spent most of indoors. So today I had planned on spending time in the veggie garden and cleaning up the chook house/yard. Then I woke to see this… with yesterdays washing still hanging on the clothes line.

My other jobs for the long weekend – helping Kevin clean out the computer room and study aren’t very appealing so I’m not sure what we’ll get up to today. Maybe just a family day at home…

The girls have spent all morning like this…

I’ve told them 10 more minutes then they need to get on with their morning routine – which includes breakfast…

Kevin recently had his first taste of rock climbing and instantly fell in love.

He’s bought all his own equipment and has been going to local indoor rock climbing gym whenever he can. He took the girls last weekend and they loved it so yesterday we all went in so I could belay Kevin and he could do the girls. Kevin is really enjoying the challenge and I’m so pleased that he’s found a physical activity that he enjoys. It’s certainly something he couldn’t have done before WLS.

Weekend round-up

img_0339

Had a nice, but busy weekend. On Saturday the girls had drama, then Amy had two birthday parties to attend in the afternoon. I pottered around a bit and finish off this little album that I started on Friday afternoon. I love how it turned out – and it’s something very different for me -but was really oh, so, easy – which really is me.

Kevin was away Sat and Sat night – he wanted to try out camping with the motorbike – he was very cold and I don’t think too impressed. The girls and I went with Mum & Dad to have a look at a caravan park for us to stay at in the October school holidays. It looks very nice, has a kids club and is only 30mins from home. The girls can’t wait.

Afterwards we had a nice lunch in Gerringong.

Then had a look through some shops – Mum & I found these wonderful goodies at a cute little shop – couldn’t believe how cheap things were. We did buy more but some is for my birthday next week.
