I can’t believe it. My first born turned 10 years old yesterday. It has gone by so quickly yet at the same time it seems like she has always been a part of our lives. I find it impossible to remember my day to day life before she was born. I guess I went to work, watched TV, read and slept and generally had lot of “ME” time :-).
We started her day by opening presents in our bed. She had been up since 4.30am (she got up just as I was heading back to bed after not being able to sleep since 3am). Her “main” present was a watch. It’s got a blue face and I just love it. Luckily she does too.
Since it was school day Amy opted for a quick breakfast of cold cereal (but one of the ones I never normally buy). She took cupcakes to school. I got the recipe from Our Red House – thanks Kate. They turned out great and were a big hit.
After school she has singing lessons so while she was there I organised a little afternoon tea party for her with Nan & Pop also joining us.
Of course there was a birthday day. A rich chocolate cake with cream. Yum – even if it was a bit lot overcooked.
If you’re wondering what Christy is wearing, the girls had a school disco tonight.
Amy certainly seemed to enjoy her special day and she still has her Popstar Party to look forward to on Satuday, and I have another cake to make.
Happy birthday, Amy! Double digits! Woohoo! 🙂
Happy Birthday Amy! Wow looks like she would have had a lovely day. Lucky she has such a great mum! 😉
You did a lovely job on the cupcakes!
Looking forward to hearing about the popstar party – sounds like heaps of fun!!
Happy belated birthday Amy!!! I hope your party goes well on Sunday.
What a sensational birthday. I love the cake and of course, the cupcakes. I’m glad you liked the recipe.
Happy birthday to beautiful Amy!
