White Water World

I awoke about 5am this morning (shortly after Amy). Had my usual cup of tea while playing on the computer. Around 6.30am I suggested we go down for a swim in the indoor pool. Amy and I swam laps, while Kevin & Christy sat in the spa. It’s been ages since I’ve swam laps and it was a shock to the system. So hard to breath when you’re underwater :-).

Back up in the room I had a shower, then we went out to get some groceries (and an ice chocolate/coffee from Gloria Jeans). I then sat outside on the balcony to have some breakfast whilst reading the last few pages of my book.

The rest of the family were hanging out in our bed.

Then it was time to get organised and head to White Water World. We had to make a stop to buy Kevin a new sunshirt – since he left his at the apartment, and Amy wanted one as well since hers is missing (couldn’t find it at home before coming away).

We then found a spot to camp near the Nickolodeon Pipeline Plunge. We spent the day doing numerous waterslides and playing in the wave pool. Finally at 2pm our favourite ride – Hyrdocoaster opened – but it didn’t seem as good as we remembered.

We enjoyed another salad for lunch.

And later we had a muffin tin snack even though it’s Wednesday.

Around 3.30pm everyone had had enough and we headed home.

After a brief rest (Kevin tried to have a sleep and the girls played frizbees for a bit) we headed out to the markets. The girls bought a few goodies, including these headbands.

I loved these plates and have ordered one for our family. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Such a great idea for wedding/baby presents.

We bought some dinner on the way home. Subway for the girls and Nando’s for us.

Back to the apartment, where we enjoyed our tea.  I had a delicious veggie pita (I had no idea they had vegetarian options). It was so yummy, though I couldn’t finish it all.

After dinner the girls played with the sludge they had got at the markets.

Tomorrow: Dreamworld  (we hadn’t planned on doing the theme parks back to back but rain is forecast over the weekend)

  1. Hi Libby, I think its great that you guys get up early and do lots of things BEFORE you go out for the day. We are sleepyheads and just had enough time for breaky before going to the theme parks! You really pack in a day!! When are you coming home? Were the night markets worth going to? We didn’t get a chance to go – or to many places – our 10yo daughter became very ill and was in hospital for 5 of the ten days we were there (I stayed with her the whole time). I’m enjoying reading your trip. Enjoy your day tomorrow !!!

  2. Hi Libby, I have never been to the night markets on the Gold Coast – seems like lots of fun. I love the look of the plates too, you will have to show us how yours turn out.

The pool where you did your laps looked so inviting!!

Look forward to reading about tomorrow 🙂
