Well I have to say I absolutely LOVED The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl
The recipes are delicious looking (well, not so much the meat ones since I’m a vegetarian) and she has step by step illustrations of how to make them all. There are quite a few I can’t wait to try but be warned, they are definitely not low fat!
What I was most surprised about was how much I enjoyed her stories about her life married to a farmer. And I loved the story of how her and her husband met and fell in love.
Then there are the photos – truly inspiring. Wonderful photos of farm life, children, cows, horses, dogs, cowboys! I’m more determined than ever to get our farm… one day.
I’m so grateful to the library for purchasing this book. It’s definitely going to become a part of my permanent library one day.

I checked with my library on Saturday to see if they have ‘ purchasing requests’ after reading about your library getting in so many books that you are after. The lady at my library directed me to a form to fill out. I am sure she thought I was some sort of weirdo when I grabbed a whole pile of forms and walked out with them… so I could study up on my list.
This book will be on the list for sure!!

…and I forgot to add for Michelle above, I work in a library and we don’t think the people who fill in SFP (suggestion for purchase) forms are weird LOL
I used to live near Ree Drummond, when I say near I mean within 50 miles or so. The ranches in that part of our state are so large, thousands of acres. You would love it there, canyons, wild horses, buffalo preserve, caves where robbers hid out during the wild west days. It is a beautiful, picturesque area. I need to get that cookbook for my son-in-law…he’s the cook at our house!
