I have to keep reminding myself that it is indeed Tuesday, not Monday. The girls went back to school today and I cleaned house – both of which normally happens on Monday.
I started the day by taking the dogs for a walk by the lake. It was still warm this morning, despite a bit of fog.
When I came home I had a glass of water and got the kettle boiling for my first cup of tea – which I enjoyed with some cruskits and spreadable cheese.
One hour later the girls were all ready for school and I got breakfast started. I’d been wanting to have boiled egg so I could use the new egg cups I bought – aren’t they just the cutest?
You’ll notice my eggs aren’t always the cleanest – that’s because we have our own chickens and they don’t tend to clean their feet when they get muddy 🙂
Once the girls left for school I got on with cleaning the house – another workout in itself. Mid-morning I had a break and enjoyed a green smoothie. In addition to my normal recipe I added 1/2 cucumber (thanks for the idea Jane!). Do you spy my fellow smoothie lover? He always hope I will leave some for him….and usually I do.
Lunch today with a salad with falafel and hummus. Delicious!!
An hour later I enjoyed a cup of tea and 1/2 turish delight bar. I really could have done without the bar but once I start I had to finish :-(.
When the girls got home from school at 3.30pm we had some afternoon tea which we took and ate in the pavillion. I had some dip, carrots, crackers and strawberries.
Dinner tonight was a new recipe from an old cookbook – Vegetarian Kids – Spaghetti with Roasted Butternut Pumpkin. Twas rather yummy. Amy was disspointed that I used angel hair pasta instead of spaghetti. But it was so much easier to eat :-). It was supposed to be served with pine-nuts, which I had roasted, but forgot about until I was cleaning up :-(. Oh,well, they should be nice on tomorrows salad :-).
A couple hours later I feeling a little hungry again so had a piece of fruit loaf and a cup of tea.
