We had ummed and ahhed about what do on Father’s Day but neither Kevin or my Dad had any opinions and both were quite happy to just stay at home – so that’s what we did.

We started with pancakes for breakfast…

and from Amy a BBQ apron that she made/sewed by herself…

I spent the morning in the kitchen getting lunch organised. No help from Amy 🙁 but a little bit of help from Christy – can’t say I was very impressed with my girls.

Luckily it was nice enough to eat lunch outside. Pop was kind enough to cook the BBQ. I did offer but who knows how it would have turned out :-).

For desert Christy and I had made Kevin’s favourite Lemon Syrup Cake.

Afterwards we watched some old home movies from 2003 and 2006. The girls were so cute and Kevin & I so fat. There was lots of laughing and it was a fun trip down memory lane.

  1. It sounds like a lovely quiet Father’s Day just like we had! Love the apron – clever girl making that herself. The cake looks delicious.
