Goodness me I can’t believe the date I just typed – can it really be November already?
Today started out a little different. After a week of eating so much junk food I’m dedicating today to healthy eating. So instead of my usual cup of tea, I started the day with a glass of water.
I caught up on email and read a few blogs. The girls got up and were getting ready for school. Amy needed her uniform ironed so I did that.
and stopped to pat Bailey..
before assembling the fruit for this mornings juice.
Fresh juice for 3….
Yum. Kevin had his juice and Amy ate breakfast then they left.
Christy packed her lunch for school. Don’t you just love the post-Halloween lollies in the place a sandwich should go (she ordered a toasted cheese sandwich and actually bought home nearly all the lollies).
After Christy left for school I had a couple of bananas for my breakfast.
I then had my shower and got dressed and left do run a few errands. First was a stop at the school to fill out some uniform orders. Then it was the supermarket…
and fruit shop….
then bakery. I had a trolley full already so dropped the groceries in the car boot…
then went to the health food shop, pet shop (for more fish food as Bailey keeps eating it) and the post office for more stamps.
Back home I made a green smoothie….
which I enjoyed while taking a little break.
I unpacked a some of groceries and hung out the washing…
Then it was time for lunch. Such a lovely day so I enjoyed it out by the pool. I then had a bit of a laze in the sun, but came inside when I felt myself drifting off to sleep!
As always, my faithful companions weren’t too far away.
My arthritis was acting up so I hung out on the couch for a while before going to get Amy from the bus stop.
Christy arrived home and the girls watched a bit of TV while I unpacked some more of the fruit and veg. My poor kitchen – it looked like this for most of the day!
At 5pm I ran the girls up to dancing. The pups had to ride in the boot (much to Bailey’s horror).
Back home I enjoyed some watermelon and finally got everything unpacked and put away.
New fruit bowls…
and a fridge packed full of fruit and veg.
I’d had a headache developing all afternoon so I put my feet up again with a cup of tea and my laptop (and Bailey)..
Kevin got home around 6pm and was good enough to pick up Christy from dancing, and then Amy at 7pm. For the first time in a probably a week we sat and had a family dinner…
While the others had pasta with aribatta sauce I enjoyed a yummy Asian coleslaw…the almond ginger dressing (from Peas and Thank you ) was delicious.
During dinner Kevin made us all do this colour eye test – I was the only one who could see the coloured numbers!!!
I was starting to feel VERY poorly now with a pounding headache so I left the family to clean the kitchen while I had a bath. When I came back down (feeling marginally better) and I found them like this…
I made a frozen banana ice-cream (but didn’t like it that much) to have while watching The Mentalist.
It was only just after 8.30pm but I thought my head was going to explode, so once again left the family to do the night-time routine of letting the dogs out and putting on the dishwasher. I headed straight to bed. Lights out. No reading. I felt bad not putting Christy to bed but I just couldn’t. Instead she came and saw me. I heard Kevin come in with the dogs a little while later and luckily enough managed to get to sleep fairly easily.
Hope the headache is better!
It’s horrible having a headache, it affects your whole self. I hate it when I can’t put the girls’ to bed – I feel so guilty! I hope you feel better tomorrow.
ugh headaches – they are the worst!!!!!
oh and ps…..did you say that your dog keeps eating all the fish food?! lol
Wow Libby, that headache sure sounded bad! That salad you made looks really yummy. Love your day in your life posts Libby. I am thinking of starting to blog again. It might be a good way to get back into it 🙂
