Bite size organizing

Now that I’m all back to normal I’ve been back to organising the home. However with it being school holidays I’ve been tacking small bite-sized projects. Actually the first project was Christy’s bedroom and that was an all-day project!

Amy worked on her room but I forgot to take a photo.

The rest of the projects were indeed bite sized taking from 5 mins up to 20mins.

I tidied the mess in the upstairs hallway which had been here for too many weeks.

And resorted the linen cupboard.

I made a start on my desk by tidying the workspace.

A few days later I did the upper cupboard.

Finally I gave the baking tray cupboard a clean and tidy. This job honestly took just 5 mins.

My advice to anyone feeling overwhelmed is to tackle some small jobs. It’s manageable and makes you feel good.

  1. Thanks for the inspiration, I seemed to get overwhelmed when I look at everything that needs to be done at my house. I like your idea of breaking it down into small jobs.
P.S. have fun with your Disney trip Planning!

  2. I love the term ‘bite size organising’. I have been doing bits and pieces myself these school holidays and have got so much done, it’s terrific. My 7 year old’s bedroom took all day too!

  3. This is a good reminder to try to do a little bit at a time. Sometimes I put jobs off and put them in the too hard basket instead. Christy’s room looks fabulous.
