A new week has begun…

It’s a new week and I’m ready to get back on the healthy eating wagon. Started the day with a lovely walk by the lake and a green smoothie.

Then it was on with cleaning the house and a yummy falafel salad for lunch.

Afternoon tea was some tiny teddies I found while cleaning out the kitchen :-(.

Dinner was a burritos made with TVP, cheese and tomato. And don’t you just love how bright tonights photo is? Kevin got me a new camera – isn’t he a sweetie! I can’t believe how much better it is.

And supper…the last of the ice cream (no more until we’re back from the UK) and a choc strawberry bought yesterday.

I’m all geared up and ready to get back on track with the Red Carpet Ready program. Which means no cakes, cookies, lollies, ice cream and only the occasional dark chocolate until we leave for the UK in 5.5 weeks. It’s crunch time!

Freaky Friday

A lovely morning walk – though a good bit chillier this morning. I’m in a bit of a slump because my weight loss is VERY slow and at the rate I’m going I will NOT fit into my jeans before our trip. And buying another pair isn’t another option – I’ve tried but I’m right in between sizes. The next size up are too big. I don’t want to gain weight so I therefore, have to lose a bit of weight – only about 4kgs so it’s still doable but I need to get a move along. Not that you’d think so by todays eats :-(.

Desert….

There was other stuff conveniently not photographed :-). Not good. Definitely not the way to be fitting in my jeans, and hardly a fruit or veggie to be seen.

Home made dressing delight

Had a lovely morning walk with the dogs followed by the upper body part of my workout. Then came a green smoothie – using freshly ground flaxseeds cortesy of my new grinder.

After dropping the girls at school I had a cup of tea and a slice of grainy bread with hummus.

IMG_6435

Spent the morning doing random jobs around the house. Lunch was a salad with egg…and homemade dressing. I finally got around to making a honey mustard dressing with equal parts (1 tbsp) dijon mustard, honey, olive oil and lemon juice from Kath Eats Real Food.I fully expected not to like it – after all I do like a creamy dressing – but this was REALLY good.

Afternoon tea – a cup of tea and a chocolate muffin (homemade this morning and on the healthy side).

IMG_6441

This afternoons snack was pita bread with cheese, hummus, carrot and sprouts. Yum!!

IMG_6448

Served with tea, of course.

IMG_6449

Tonights dinner was a lentil bake. I’ve made it before and I love it. But unfortunately I’m the only one who does…

IMG_6450

You can find the recipe at Attic 24. If you like lentils you’ll love it. I even forgot the peanuts and it still tasted great. Real comfort food.

And lastly…

Simple Saturday

Very hard to get out of bed again this morning (hands and feet sore and swollen again) but I did. And I even managed to talk Kevin into coming for a walk with me and dogs this morning. It was nice to have some human company and good chance for us to have a chat.

I made the girls some French Toast for breakfast and decided to have a slice myself. We have ours the Scottish way – with tomato ketchup. Yum.

I then got busy in the kitchen – making bread (for the girls lunch), some lemon cookies and hummus. Christy had a friend over to play and Amy occupied herself on the computer.

Mid-morning I had a cup of tea , a banana and slice of banana cake. I’m trying to teach myself I don’t have to have a cake/cookie with every cup of tea!

I was playing with my new DSLR (Kevin’s spare camera) and the camera was set right so the photos are VERY yellow!

Lunch today was a salad with egg and the homemade hummus.

Amy photographed her lunch today as well. She must have been hungry when she prepared this but only ate 3/4.

IMG_6354

This afternoon I played on the computer – working on our holiday plans. I sampled a few of the lemon cookies

IMG_6357

and later served some hummus with turkish bread and veggie chips for Kevin & I to munch on.

IMG_6358

After a spa and more computer time we had another easy dinner of leftover Mushroom and Potato soup with a chunk of homemade bread. So hard to get decent lighting at the dinner table when it’s dark outside.

I hadn’t planned on having ice-cream tonight but when I had to dish some out for Christy I weakened and did a bowl for myself. Tonight I grated a block of Cadbury fairtrade choc. which was SOOO yummy on the ice cream.
