A Morning Walk

IMG_2644.jpg

Being Winter, I’m not walking at sunrise (which I do miss) but instead wait until about 9am when it was warmed up somewhat. I’m still not up to walking every day and some days I can only manage a shorter walk, but even when it’s difficult, I’m always glad I made the effort. And I always enjoy the views.

And in August the Wattle is in full bloom.

Walking the Sea Cliff Bridge (FDO)

IMG_2620.jpg

For this weeks Family Day Out Athena chose to walk across the Sea Cliff Bridge. It’s about to turn 10 years old so it was definitely about time. It was a gorgeous Winters day for the 1.5 hour return trip.

If you are ever heading from Sydney to Wollongong and you’ve got the time, it’s definitely worth taking a walk, or at least a drive over the Sea Cliff Bridge.

July in Photos

IMG_5197.jpg

July was a pretty quite month, beginning with the second week of the school holidays. We enjoyed some mild Winter weather and nice, relaxed days at home.

IMG_5402.jpg

I started eating a more plant based diet and finally saw an improvement in my health.

IMG_2572.jpg

There was a new season of Game of Thrones.

IMG_5207.jpg

Some pretty sunrises.

IMG_5552.jpg

School holiday trips to the station dropping off and picking up friends.

IMG_2502.jpg

More time back in the kitchen.

IMG_5227.jpg

I found the dog coats (which had been missing for some time) just in time for the colder Winter nights. Bailey doesn’t wear his very often but Rosie seems to enjoy/need her coat with her shorter fur.

IMG_2507.jpg

There was the monthly trip to the chemist to get medications for myself and Athena.

IMG_2511.jpg

And time in front of the heater for Bailey.IMG_2517.jpg

There was a haircut with a new hairdresser (my old one, Chris, changed professions and moved to Melbourne….so sad….).

IMG_2586.jpg

And there was time on my computers.

IMG_5581.jpg

Of course, being July, it meant 3 weeks of watching the Tour de France…

This years winner…. Chris Froome.

There were plenty of lovely skies.

And cute puppy dogs.

And there were a few walks to the lake as my health improved.

The Wombats Concert

IMG_5799.jpg

Athena, Christy and myself were very excited to be seeing The Wombats in concert. We all paid for our own tickets, so it was a concert we all wanted to attend (in other words, I wasn’t just doing Mum duty this time :-)).

The support band Circa Waves were awesome. Best support band I have ever seen. Purchased their album the next day. And really hope I get to see them headlining their own gig one day.

IMG_5820.jpg

Of course, the band we’d come to see was pretty amazing as well. We sung along to all the songs and had a really great night.

IMG_5830.jpg

I really enjoy concerts at the Hordern Pavillion as (since I have no desire to be in the most pit) I can sit (in comfort) pretty close to the stage and get a great view. And even better photos and video (when I zoom in).
