A busy weekend and lots of baking

We’ve had a rather busy weekend. Starting on Friday night when we hosted Kevin’s business party at home. It was a nice night and we were able to set up and eat outside – which was nice.

Then Saturday was spent doing a lot of Christmas baking – Amy made Christmas cookies to take to singing & drama, I then made shortbread, lemon cookies, fudge, and a gingerbread house (which was our advent activity for the day). The gingerbread house was a bit of a disaster – the bread was too soft – but the girls had fun and are rather proud of their creation. I also managed to squeeze in a workout at the gym and a swim.

Saturday we had the Christmas Party for my old workplace (we still get invited cause it was my Dad’s company – he has recently retired so it was probably our last year). Then today Mum had a brunch for some family friends. I made zuccini and corn fritters, pikelets and a potato dish.

Oh, and here’s a cute photo of Rosie snoozing on the lounge “in her spot”.

Dance Presentation

Pre-juniour dance

The girls had their dance presntation last night. It was good night. They both recieved their participation trophy’s – Christy was very excited about hers. (Amy is center in the green top and Christy is in the bottom, second from the left) . But we were totally surprised when Amy won a special award for pre-junior Tap (mainly cause though she is in the pre-junior age group, for the second half of the year she has been in the junior class. She so loves her tap and I was just thrilled for her that she won this (they only give out one). It was so unexpected I didn’t even have my camera out. Here’s a photo (once said camera was retrieved) with her teacher Miss Lyndsey.

Christy on Stage

Christy on stage 2007

Yesterday Christy and a handful of kindy kids got to perform on stage at a local shopping mall. She was so excited to be chosen. You can just see her smiling out from the second row. They sang a variety of songs about potatoes – hence the cute little potato sacks.

Dancing with the Stars

That was the title for this years dance concert. The girls did great. Christy does Ballet and is the youngest (and smallest) in her class. Amy does tap and jazz. As always it was a great concert and this year Kevin was the official photographer so we’ve got some great photos. Here are some that I took before and at the end of the show. Doesn’t Christy’s hair piece look great?
