Nature Walk & Lunch Out – 11th April, 2014

Third day in a row that I was feeling good enough for a walk. On this occasion I decided to start at North Beach and walk to Puckey’s Estate to take the boardwalk/nature walk. As you can see it was a STUNNING morning.

Things had changed since my last visit here, and the beach is now a designated dog beach.

So, of course, I had to take the pups there for a play and swim.

Photo overload I know but it was such a beautiful morning.

We ended up staying on the beach for about 30mins or so.

Then it was back through the bush and on the path back to the car.

Back where I’d parked the car there was a woman’s boot camp in progress, overlooking the beach. Now that’s what I’d call working out with a view.

I was back home for a few hours before I headed back into Wollongong to have lunch out at The Anchorage Restaurant to celebrate my Granny’s 92nd Birthday.

The meal was delicious…

The company great…

and the view spectacular…

I was really happy I was able to be there to celebrate with my Granny.

Crazy Goldie Lady -10th April, 2014

IMG_8727.jpg

Still playing catch up but a few weeks ago I took the dogs forĀ  a walk to the beach, in the rain, with my Goldie umbrella.

IMG_8728.jpg

Even with the rain it felt so good to be out walking again. And the dogs sure enjoyed this unplanned visit to the beach.

I’m sure I looked like the crazy Goldie lady with my umbrealla & 2 goldies :-).

Harbourside Walk – 9th April, 2014

IMG_2106.JPG

Finally after almost 3 months I was feeling well to go on a proper walk again. Since Kevin was away and I was having to run the girls into school, I took the opportunity to walk the dogs down by Wollongong Harbour.

IMG_2104.JPGIMG_2121.JPG

As you can see it was a stunning Autumn morning. Nice and warm, without being too hot.

IMG_2105.JPG

The walk was pretty slow and I stopped to take lots of of video and photos.

We just walked from the harbour around to North Beach. I haven’t been here in a few years and there have been quite a few changes. The old change rooms are now a cafe (which is wonderful as at one time there was talk of tearing the old building down)

and a lovely statue as a tribute to the surf lifesavers.

The dogs and I really enjoyed the walk, and it was plenty long enough for my first outing. Afterwards we had a quick stop overlooking South Beach.

In the afternoon Christy and I stopped on the way home from school to feed the local donkeys and the new Clydesdale horse.

So fun, though the donkeys wouldn’t come near us once the horse turned up.

This photo makes him look pretty short, but he really was a big fellow.
