Holidays are over
Yep, unfortunately it’s the end of not only our Nelson Bay holiday, but the school holidays as well :-(.
After a leisurely morning, Christy & I said our goodbyes. There was a brief stop to buy some watermelon..
and rainy lunch stop at Olivers…
I was really proud of Christy for trying some edamame – which she liked :-).
Lots of rain, and even fog, on the drive home. Kinda good going home on a day like this. Makes it a little easier to end the holiday and get ready for school going back tomorrow.
Australia Day
Australia Day was very low key for us. We had a very lazy morning and saw the parade along the waterfront (from our verandah). It was too overcast for our planned beach day, so we decided we’d go out for lunch instead. We went to another of our regular places at Salamander.
Of course, I had to stop to admire this flower :-).
Pop ordered us this bread for a starter. It was SOOOO good.
Then some photos while we wait.
I had a chickpea burger – which was yummy but too big – I should have ordered it without the bread.
After lunch we went for a walk down to the water.
And for the first time ever, saw this sign and well.
We decided to have a quick look around the markets, as they were just down the street from our apartment, but most of the stalls had already packed up.
But I did get to make friends with some sheep :-).
More reading and relaxing this afternoon, and I did do a bit of packing.
Dinner was a delicious BBQ. Can’t believe it’s already the last night.
Afterwards I finished watching Sons of Anarchy. Not happy with then of that series, so I’m going to move right onto the last ever series when I get home.
Don’t forget to watch the video to see more of our day.
Beach Day
Today we were treated to a stunning sunrise (even though we couldn’t actually see where it rose). Pop & I made a trip into town to the Bakery and Newsagents.
Then it was breakfast. Today I had some cereal…
and a croissant.
We then packed up and drove around to Shoal Bay..
to visit the beach…
Not sure we picked the best spot but it was nice enough and we enjoyed a swim…
some cherries…
and the view from under our broken umbrealla….
It was really hot today so after lunch on the verandah and a relax (and break from the sun), we headed down to the pool for a swim.
Such a nice way to end the day.
Tonight I made nachos for dinner…
and enjoyed the most amazing sunset….
And todays vlog…
