Well, I’m not too sure what to say about Amy’s sleepover party for her 9th birthday. There were some good times, and unfortunately some bad times (like most of the kids not going to sleep until midnight which meant I didn’t get to sleep until after midnight – mind you the birthday girl was out by 9pm). Amy had a good time overall and today the Powells stayed for lunch so I was able to destress and end the weekend on a happy note. My advice would have to be wait until your kids are teenagers to have a sleepover party. Here are some photos.

Not much happening in my neck of the woods so I thought I’d just share some photos taken over the last few days.

Photo of Belle and myself. She doesn’t venture too far from her bed these days (unless it’s dinner time) so I took the opportunity to get a photo of us together.

Christy and her hippo – who had just had a bath.

So cute – the girls sitting doing their homework together. Not sure if my girls are strange or not but they LOVE having homework. Amy’s biggest complaint last year, in 3rd class, was not having enough of it.

MMM….. m&m’s. I didn’t see these until after Valentines’ Day but I’m a real sucker for packaging and just couldn’t resist these.

Valentine’s Day

Well, I don’t think I’ve really celebrated Valentine’s Day since I was in my teens but I always try to get a little something for the girls. This year I got the girls these cute little keyrings – a hippo and monkey holding hearts.

In the their lunchboxes I snuck some homemade chocolate hearts, then for supper we had some heart shaped biscuits. When Mum came over this morning Christy wanted to know what her present was from her. Mum looked blank until I told her it was Valentines Day. So there was a rose and yummy looking cupcake waiting for the girls when they got home from school.

Amy’s Swimming Carnival

Amy had her school swimming carnival today. She entered in the freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. I was so PROUD of her for giving everything a go. She placed 4th in ALL of her races and made it through (on times) to the final of the freestyle. She was totally exhausted by the end of her five races.
