A busy start to the year

IMG_7878.jpg

It was a crazy, busy start to the year but there was definitely time for some fun. And unfortunately I’ve still be suffering with arthritis pain and some sinus pain.

Kevin & Christy went on a 3 hour horse ride. No, not on this horse :-).

There was a basketball game and a WIN by the Hawks.

And we finally got a signed jersey.

IMG_9780.jpg

There was a visit to Jamberoo (on a very crowded day).

And I spent some time looking up at this view.

There was time for a lovely, relaxing bath.

Amy had a group of friends over for a Mafia (card game) party.

There were lots of lovely morning walks with the pups.

There was a visit to the pediatrician for Christy, who ordered another blood test, which thankfully went well for her. She’s also to do 6 weeks of a wheat free diet (which we’ll start after our holiday).

There were more Christmas cards delivered and I finally found a place to display them.

IMG_9785.jpg

There were some unexpected visitors in the form of stick bugs.

There was a mermaid in our pool.

This is me in My Little Pony form – thanks to Christy.

And this is our family pony – CAKE (Christy, Amy, Kevin & Elizabeth).

There was not enough time spent with the puppies.

And there was the handing in of forms and an interview to start the official change of Amy’s name to Athena. It’s been something she’s been wanting to do for years and we thought it best to do now before she starts getting things like drivers licenses, etc. It’s going to take some time to start referring to her and calling her Athena.

Christy’s Year 6 Farewell & Formal

The 17th December was a big day for Christy (and me) as it was her Year 6 Graduation and Formal.

The day started with the graduation ceremony.

IMG_8830.JPG

It was bittersweet for me as I was also leaving the school – after being a part of it for 10 years.

IMG_8838.jpg IMG_8836.jpg IMG_8842.jpg

After lunch it was time for a trip to the hairdressers, before I did her nails and makeup.

IMG_8853.JPG

She chose to wear the dress we’d bought the cruise formal night last year, which was dressy but age appropriate.

She was so excited about the formal and had a fabulous time.

She came home happy, but tired with sore feet.

School Fun Day

On Wednesday Christy’s school had it’s school fun day (which is held every other year). I had uniform shop and kindy fittings till 11am, but was able to hang out with Christy for a bit afterwards.

Because this is a fundraiser for year 6, they help out at the various stands/games/rides. Here is Christy manning the lolly stand.

IMG_7442.jpg

As you can see, after it being cancelled last week due to bad weather, they had the perfect day this time around.

IMG_7828.JPG

There are a lot of rides and Christy & Hana had fun racing each other on this one.

In the evening we headed to the Montessori school for an information session on the high school and IB program…..IMG_7847.JPG

and amazingly enough we were the first to arrive – something that is a very rare occurrence indeed :-).

Last day of craziness….hopefully…

Thursday was hopefully the last day that would crazy busy for some time. The last few weeks have been far too hectic for me and I’ve missed being at home, and hanging out with my pups.

IMG_7857.JPG

As most days, it began with a morning walk.

IMG_7482.jpg

I then went to the chiropractor as I’ve had a sore back for some time now (mainly first thing in the morning but it’s been getting worse). I then had to get my groceries and attend to various other jobs. Later I had to pick up Amy from her drama rehearsal, then take Christy to swimming, then take Amy back into Wollongong for her drama performance. I was in & out the house for hours!!! Being that it had been such a busy and crazy day we decided to have a quick dinner out before the show (Amy had to be there an hour early). We opted for yummy Mexican and I had a lovely quesadilla..

IMG_7453.JPG

On the back of the theatre there is a lot of street art so we took so we took some time to admire it. Hopefully in the school holidays we’ll get to go and see the rest that has been put up as part of the Wollongong Wonderwalls Festival.

Then it was time to sit and relax and enjoy Amy’s drama performance.

IMG_7460.jpg

Though I didn’t understand much of what was going on, it was great seeing all the kids up on stage. And, of course, we thought Amy did an amazing job.
