Well, it was just gorgeous here on Sunday so we thought it time to take the boat out again. Our plans had been to motor across the lake and have a picnic lunch and let the girls have a swim. However, by the time to drove to the boat ramp – which is just over the hill from our house – it was way more windy than we realized. We still set out and promptly all got soaking wet. So we turned back and just pulled the girls in the tube. They still had a fantastic time. Certainly a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

Halloween Party 2009
Had a fantastic night at our Halloween Party. The girls headed off to go trick or treating around 5pm and got back just before our first guests arrived. Amy was Cleopatra and Christy was a pig.
Bailey was Mickey Mouse….
and Rosie was a watch dog…
We were joined by 25 of our friends for a fun night. The kids had a fabulous playing, and swimming. The adults sat around eating and chatting. Most got into the spirit and dressed up. I think everyones favourite this year was Kevin.
I went as Juliet…
and Kevin was my Romeo?????
Everyone cracked up when they saw what he was wearing. Kevin was big piggy and Christy was little piggy.
Here are some other photos of the evening…
Living in a dust bowl
This is what we awoke to this morning. A dust storm had blown in (something I’ve NEVER encountered before) and turned to world orange.
Amy and I still went for our morning walk but it was rather strange today – we could only see a few meters in front of us and EVERYTHING was covered in dust.
Not our normal view of the lake.
I felt sorry for this little guy.
You can hardly see our house.
Upon returning home I realized how much dust had also gotten into the house – it was stinking hot yesterday so almost all the window were open until we got some rain during the night. Some, like the front door, were still open so I had a nice layer of dust throughout the home. I’ve dusted, vacuumed and moped but am thinking I’ll still be finding dust for some time to come. I am absolutely dreading cleaning outdoors!!!!
It sounds like it was worse in Sydney. While it’s cleared a lot it’s supposed to hang around most of the day.
Pool Fun
We had a great day at the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Center with the Powells. We hardly saw the girls, though we did go for a couple of swims with them. The pool was a lot busier than we’d expected, esp. the whirlpool. Christy’s birthday celebrations are now officially over. It’s certainly been a good one
