Just sharing some photos from my morning walks during the last week of the year. I never tire of it, and hope you don’t either.

Ricky Martin Concert
With a big night ahead it was MOST unfortunate that I woke up at 3am!!!! With sinus pain and a tickly throat there was no way I was going back to sleep, so after 30mins I got up and went downstairs. I did manage to get another hour on the couch around 5am. Since I wasn’t feeling the best Christy was kind enough to make me some French Toast for breakfast. Haven’t had any more ages – and it was so good.
I spent the rest of the morning doing a few jobs, mainly vegging on the couch. But I did enjoy my lunch outside.
And I took an afternoon nap – something I NEVER do but felt was very necessary today. I manged to get about another 45mins.
Then finally it was time to get all dressed up and head to Sydney. My Mum was supposed to be my date (the ticket was actually a Christmas present from her) but she wasn’t up to attending. And Amy was more than happy to take her place.
Still a lot of smoke around.
Even with some traffic getting to Olympic Park we arrived nice and early and had plenty of time to get some dinner.
I was so happy with our seats. With my bad vision I really appreciate being close enough to see facial features :-).
The support act was Timomatic, who I really enjoyed.
Then it was time for Ricky. I’ve been a huge fan for about 15 years and it was great to see him in concert again. The last time was about 12 years ago and I was on crutches with a broken ankle. Obviously I didn’t get to dance the night away that time :-).
Such a great show. He has so much energy and genuinely seemed to be having a good time up there. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a performer so happy. Hope I don’t have to wait another 12 years to see him again!!!
To see more of my day, or to see Ricky in action, be sure to watch my vlog.
A date with the Boss
Last night I had the fun of getting dressed up….
and battling the Sydney traffic….
to see this….
I arrived 1.5 hours before showtime so was able to watch the stadium fill up and chat with the lady beside me (who had come over from New Zealand and was going to EVERY concert – lucky gal).
As expected the concert was awesome. The very first I attended was when Bruce toured back in 1985. And honestly nothing much has changed – his energy is amazing.
This was my 4th time seeing Bruce. Last time was 9 years ago and I was lucky enough to be in row 10 on the floor. Such a shame we could take photos back then, and phones with cameras were just a fantasy :-).
It’s always a bit of trip down memory lane seeing Bruce. Him, and his guitarist Nils Lofrgren (in the hat) inspired me to learn the guitar (though I no longer play… couldn’t handle the short nails) and I was absolutely crazy about the whole band during my teenage years.
It was sad that 2 of the band members have died in recent years but Clarence Clemons’s nephew now plays sax for the band, which I think is so cool.
Bruce has always been famous for his long concerts but I heard they were shorter these days – usually 2 hrs, 40mins. Well they played for a solid 3 hours last night. Goodness knows how they all do it, but esp. Bruce. A true rock legend.
It was such a memorable night. One I can only hope will be repeated.
Do you have any bands/singers that you’ve loved since your teenage years?
Ronan Keating Concert
Just a quick post to share some photos from Ronan Keating’s concert last night. The was the second time I’ve seen him live and it was FABULOUS. I’d been having a bad afternoon with my arthritis and it was POURING (that’s putting it mildly) rain but it was so worth the effort to go.
The support act was Sharon Corr, who was really fabulous.
But, of course, Ronan was the best.
He showed some clips of his upcoming movie – filmed in Sydney – which looks really good.
For the encore he turned into a rocker….and actually reminded me of Ricky Martin!
The last song is my favourite… Life is a Roller Coaster. Here’s a little clip I filmed.

It was a great concert. Will def. go see him again when he’s in town.
