This morning the girls and I set off with Nan & Pop for Canberra. For years I’ve been wanting to visit Floriade and I decided it was going to happen this year. We stopped on the way at Tulip Top Gardens. Unforunately the tulips were past their best but it was still very pretty.
A sausage sandwich was included in the price. I got a delicious veggie pie and donated my (and Christy’s) roll to the others lunch. We sat outside in the sunshine enjoying the flowers.
From here we went to our apartment so we could unpack the cold foods we’d bought into the fridge, and then headed to Floriade. It was not what I was expecting but we still had a lovely afternoon. We saw the flowers, watched some street performers, enjoyed an ice cream, watch a duck fashion show (yes, you read that right), the girls went to the petting zoo and on a few rides.
Here’s a photo from the duck fashion show. Poor ducks!!! The girls thought it was wonderful. They also had a duck race.
I didn’t buy anything here but I had to take a photo.
Back at the apartment we relaxed, the girls enjoyed a spa bath and we settled in for dinner (homemade pumpkin lasange) and TV – Are you Smarter than a 5th grader is on tonight.
Those tulips look amazing! I love the colours 🙂 I’m going to get to Floriade one day, it’s on my to do list…lol!
