April Family Day Out

img_5783

For our family day out this month we again headed to Jamberoo Recreation Park (Amy got a family vochure for her birthday). It has be used by the end of the month so despite the cooler weather we went today – it was the only day Kevin could come with us. We went on the tobogans first – pretty fun – and we got to see a couple of deer resting right beside the track.

We then went on the go-karts.

Then did some water slides and playing in the water. It was pretty cold so we laid in the sun for a while trying to get warm.

Couldn’t resist taking this photo – lucky I had a pedicure on Friday

The girls went back in the water and played a game of putt putt golf while Kevin and I relaxed and read. It wasn’t quite the same day we had last time but we all had a good time.

Kev’s New Ride

Kevins new motorbike

I can’t believe Kevin hasn’t already blogged about his new motorbike – but he has been busy at work. Anyway, he’s VERY excited that it’s finally here. Now he can organize all the extras he wants before the big trip – riding out to Ayers Rock. Only 12 weeks till we go. Can’t remember if I’ve blogged about it or not. But the girls and I are going with my Mum & Dad. They are taking their caravan, we will stay in on-site vans. Kevin will ride his bike (I “MAY” join him sometimes – but need to go around the block first to see if I even like the bike) and will meet with us at night. We’re going for 3 weeks and will fly home, Kevin is riding up to Darwin, then down the coast (at this stage); Mum & Dad will head for Queensland, then down the coast.

Sydney Royal Easter Show 2008

Yesterday we went to the Easter show with Nanny & Poppy and had the most fabulous day. The weather was JUST PERFECT. Not too warm and with a nice breeze to take a bit of the heat out of the sun. The main reason for the trip was to see all the animals so I explained to girls before we left there would not be lots of rides for them (they can go on all they want when we go to Surfers in 3 weeks time) and just 2 showbags – one food and on crap – oops, I mean novelty :-). We ended up coming in the back entrance which meant we were going the opposite way to the crowds – which was great.

First we got showbags (no crowds) and put them in a locker.

We then went through the art and food pavilions. I just LOVED this easter show cake – so clever.

A highlight was doing the animal walk and seeing lots of farm animals.

The girls got to help sheer a sheep.

As always the baby ducks were a favourite. Though Christy loved watching the newly hatched chicks even more. We couldn’t get her away.

Personally I loved the cows.

This is how I found Kevin after going through the dog pavillion. No, he isn’t drunk or exhausted – he had a sore back….

Billy Elliot

img_5363

WOW!!! Just back from seeing the musical Billy Elliot. It was absolutely fantastic and if you get a chance to see it you definitely should. The boy who played Billy was amazing – so talented!!!  We went with my Mum & Dad and took the girls. Amy’s ticket was for her birthday and she loved it – esp. the tap dancing. I didn’t plan to take Christy but Mum bought her a ticket so we took her along. She was okay but did get a little figetty. There is a lot of swearing – which we knew about – and Christy has been told if I hear her repeating any swear words she won’t be going to the Easter Show is a couple of weeks. I loved the show so much I’m planning to go and see it again before the season ends.

We had Korean for lunch before the show. It was a first time for all of us and we were very impressed. Here’s a photo of Amy eating her fried chicken.

And lastly, just wanted to share a photo taken this morning just before the sun came up.
