Yes, it’s that time of year when the girls go back to school after 6 weeks holidays. Not only is it the first day of school but it’s the first day of Amy’s last year of Primary. She goes into year 6 and Christy goes into year 3. One year when they’ll be in Primary together.
Christy is a 2/3 composite class and is happy with her teacher. Amy is in a straight year 6 but unfortunatley didn’t get the teacher she was told she having yesterday. She’s rather bummed and I’m disappointed for her. She was asked what teacher she’d like and what kids she’d like in her class but it all seems to have been ignored – it would have been better if she’d never been asked.
As always I didn’t think to take more photos. I’d planned on riding to school photos but it rain is forecast and I had to open the uniform shop anyway. Oh, well, maybe next week.
They look great Libby! What do you mean only year they are in primary together? I’m confused. LOL Anyway ours start back Monday, so not looking forward to it. I love having them home. That’s odd they didn’t listen to Amy, why ask? 🙁
Ailsa,
Ours is a big school (over 500 kids) so infants (K-2) is in one area and primary (3-6) is in another. Most school events are seperated, like disco, sports events, etc.
I hope Amy grows to like her new teacher. It does seem odd that they asked and then ignored…
Was that their Summer holidays? We have 6 weeks holiday in Summer before the new school year but in July/August. I remember going to a higher year in school getting a teacher who was supposed to be very strict and horrible and I thought “Oh know it’s gonna be hell” she ended up being my favourite teacher.
Thanks for the comment and you’re allowed one slice, I insisted
🙂 (only cos I wanna brag 🙂 )
Oh Libby you must be so proud of your girls they look like lovely kids. I hope they have a great year at school despite the rough start for Amy.
