The Week that Was

It was the week that was ALL about the Iditarod…and not much else…

IMG_1902.JPG IMG_1907.JPG

though I did manage to get a few things done mid-week when almost everyone took their complusory 24 rest at the same time….

It was the week Christy decided she was going to follow the Iditarod too and drew a photo of her favourite musher Aliy Zirkle winning the race… she’s currently coming first…

IMG_1926.jpg

and the week I cut out all the nasty additives out of my diet and saw an immediate reduction in my arthritis pain… time will tell…

IMG_1592.jpg

It was the week that started out with sunshine…

IMG_1891.JPG

which meant I could hang my washing outdoors…

IMG_1892.JPG

but then the rain and cold returned and it was time to make some pumpkin soup…

IMG_1897.JPG

But the sun did return….and with it this most glorious sunset…

IMG_1252.JPG

It was the week I attended the Hawks game by myself….

IMG_1253.JPG

and had the most lovely day out in Berry with Paola….

IMG_1919.JPG

It was the week Amy’s Hunger Games mockingjay pin arrived in the mail…. she’s just a “little” mad about the books and upcoming movie…

IMG_1894.JPG

and the week we got a few double yolker eggs..unfortunately this one split….

IMG_1895.JPG

It was the week of fried rice…

IMG_1893.JPG

nachos…

IMG_1925.JPG

and chocolate zucchini bread…

IMG_1258.JPG

And it was the week of pups looking out the window…

IMG_1908.JPG

assisting Nan with the weeding…

IMG_1890.JPG

recovering from a bike run (as Nan & Pop have gone away in the caravan for 3 weeks)….

IMG_1260.JPG

and making us laugh….

The Iditarod should finish on Wed….then life will return to normal…. until next March….

  1. Libby!!! Where did you get the mockingjay pin? Byron is a huge fan (he made me read the books and I was hooked as well), he has his midnight screening tickets and I would love to surprise him with this.

  2. Hello Libby
The weeks are flying by aren’t they – its funny how we think nothing much happened, then when its all written down its quite a surprise as to how much we actually have done.
I’d be interested to hear if you have actually pinpointed any particular additives that may have caused your problems
    Take care
