Since I’ve got quit a few blog posts to share (including a weekend in Sydney) I’m going to keep this brief.

Awake …. yep, 4.10am!!!!

Bailey likes to lie out for a bit first thing in the morning at the moment, even though it’s still dark out

At 6.30am the dogs and I headed out for a gorgeous morning walk to the lake.

 

This is little family of birds was so sweet. Aren’t the babies so cute?

Hot and sweaty upon our return. It’s been so humid this week.

The dogs came with me to wake up Christy and for some reason the dogs went on the bed for cuddles.

 

Time for breakfast. French toast for Christy. A slice of bread with cheese & a milo for me.

After Christy headed to school I went outside to tackle our outdoor area which is filthy after lots of wind a few weeks ago.

An hour of hard work later and things looked a whole lot better.

I listened to Bruce as I worked.

Time to go have a bath – not something I normally do during the day but it felt right today. Enjoyed with a cup of tea and YouTube.

Time for some makeup while watching a video about the evils of sugar. Scary stuff indeed.

I then worked on uniform shop acconts.

and hung out the washing. Undercover as it looks rain is on the way.

 

Can you believe the felt like temp? Yep, it’s supposed to be the first day of Feb – traditionally the hottest month of the year.

Throughout the morning I kept going out to turf this girl off the eggs – she wants to be a mama. We don’t normally get to pat them so I know she was keen to stay where she was.

At 12.30pm I put on a jacket as it had turned quite cool and dropped by the school to get some cheuqes signed.

I then headed to the hairdressers before running a few errands. Unfortunately the rain began during the 10mins I was inside the shopping center and, of course, I had parked outside today, so I got rather wet on the way back to the car… ruining my nice straight hair :-(.

Back home there were 2 puppies happy to see me.

I had to get changed because I was wet. And my hair still managed to look alright when it dried off. I’m still debating going shorter but have put off making a decision for another cut at least.

 

I relaxed a bit and ate some rice paper rolls.

Before I knew it it was 3pm and time to do the school run.

Then back home for afternoon tea with the girls.

I then decorated the house for Valentine’s Day – I’ll share all my decorations at a later date.

And painted samples of the polishes I bought in the USA (yep, still hadn’t done it yet).

Usually the girls go to Nan’s for dinner on Friday nights but they were home tonight so I made nachos for everyone.

Yum. Enjoyed while watching Glee.

Later we enjoyed a sweet treat (trying to get them out of the house before I embark on a sugar free challenge).

I painted Christy’s nails for her.

Bailey got wrapped up in a blanket.

 

And for some reason Christy, Rosie and I ended up on the floor while watching Glee (got 3 episodes watched tonight). It was so cold we were all in Winter jammies. Crazy!!!

Headed up to bed about 9.30pm and read a bit of Sweet Poison on my kindle before going to sleep.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another day in my life starting with letting the dogs out – though it wasn’t till 6am this morning – and a cup of tea.

This was enjoyed while watching YouTube…

 

and painting my nails.

Later I ended up ordering some new nail polishes. I know – I have a problem….

 

Kevin had headed off around 7am but I didn’t see either of the girls till around 9am. I headed upstairs to make the bed, shower, get dressed and collect todays washing. I also did a tidy up in preparation for the cleaners we having coming later this morning. Even just basic jobs seem to take a lot out of me at this stage.

Christy helped me make some French Toast for her breakfast….

and I made myself a Green Mango Smoothie.

After my smoothie I hung out the washing and finished tidying downstairs.

Around 11.30am the cleaners arrived and when they left at 1pm the house looked sooooo good. Clean and tidy. Shame it never lasts more than one day.

Another liquid meal – potato and leek soup and some Pom Tea.

Amy joined me for lunch we watched the final for Project Runway Australia – which had recorded from last year.

Later on I had Perfect Fit Protein drink…

 

and worked on yesterdays blog posts.

Before I knew it it was 5pm and time to make dinner. I made Fried Rice for the family. I enjoyed a few bits of omelette without problem so am going to move on to soft foods.

Kevin was home about 5.45pm so we ended up having a punctual dinner. Mine looks disgusting I know but it tasted good – refried beans, salsa and a sprinkle of cheese.

We then settled down to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid : Dog Days – just as the pups started their after-dinner play time.

A while later I enjoyed a billabong. We all really enjoyed the movie – perfect for our Summer holidays.

 

Kevin and Amy headed off to bed after the movie while Christy and I stayed up (it was only just after 8.30pm) and watched an episode of Grand Designs Australia. Dobby, our little vacuum, was out and about – which meant the dogs had to keep a close look out.

Around 9.30pm Christy and I also headed up to bed and I read a bit of Drums of Autumn (yep, I’m definitely stringing out that series) before “trying” to go to sleep at 10.30pm. I think it was more like 11.30pm before it was finally snooze time.

I ended up reading some more when I couldn’t get to sleep. What do you do when you can’t sleep at night?

I managed to sleep in till just before 6am. Unfortunately I wasn’t feeling the greatest so had a pretty easy morning on the couch drinking tea and working on my holiday movies. I did go out and water the garden as it’s going to be hot today.

 

Bailey kept me company in the shade.

 

Kevin was at work, Amy hanging out in her room and Christy & her friend who had slept over were still asleep, so I got myself a not-s0-healthy breakfast of leftover pizza.

Later, when the girls did awake, I made them some pancakes.

Around 10am I headed upstairs for a shower. Going for the natural look today as I’m just at home.

Time to do todays task – cleaning my bedroom and bathroom.

As you can see the bathroom was in desperate need. Before….

It’s been a long time since I cleaned my house (we’ve had a cleaning service for the last 6 months due to my arthritis) and I really enjoyed it. Took me 2 days (with rests) to do the whole house though :-).

Just as I finished the bathroom Dad came back with dogs from a walk and Bailey was all muddy, so I took him outside to clean him up.

 

I then made the girls some lunch…

which they enjoyed by the pool…

And I made myself a falafel salad.

I spent the afternoon working on my photobook for our trip.

While the pups had a snooze.

Christy’s friend left mid-afternoon. Around 4.30pm I went out for a swim and to soak up some rays. It was still pretty warm but the real heat of the day was gone and there was a nice breeze.

Back inside I found Christy all upset because her minecraft home was on fire.

Kevin arrived home about 5.30pm with a new desktop computer for me. As you can see it doesn’t fit so he’s going to do modifications to my desk tomorrow.

Since it’s Friday night and the girls have dinner at Nan’s, and I still wasn’t feeling the greatest, we decided to get takeaway noodles. I love this soup with noodles, veggies and tofu. Yum.

We are trying to have our Friday night movie night again so watched The Odd Life of Timothy Green. We weren’t sure what to make of it at first but I love Jennifer Garner and it was a cute movie. Amy watched the second half with us and we then watched another episode of Sherlock, which we are really enjoying. We also had a couple of Godovia chocolates to end the night.

Today started VERY early when I was woken up with a nausea attack. I get them every so often as I have a hiatus hernia (which I’m having repaired in January). Even when the attack passed I still felt yuck so knew there would be no going back to sleep. So I got up and made my self a cup of tea and watched some YouTube videos (surprise, surprise).

It was actually quite nice as it was still dark enough to enjoy the Christmas lights, though was rainy and yuck outside.

The pups snoozed… as they do.

As you can see from the huge pile I’m a bit behind on the ironing. I got Amy’s shirt ironed.

then went upstairs. Amy wasn’t feeling well so was running late. Kevin played with the dogs while he waited for her.

I woke Christy up and run her a bath.

Then went and had my own shower and got ready.

Trying a new hair accessory but I don’t think I have it in right.

Downstairs to do my morning jobs and eat some breakfast (turkish bread with spreadable cheese) while getting everything done.

Mum came over and it was off to school to open the uniform shop. It was our big day for next years Kindy’s to come pick up their uniforms. You might notice I had to get changed before leaving home as it was rather chilly.

After the big rush Mum ended up going home. I had to stay until 12pm so got a few jobs done.

It was so cold today. 8 degrees. 22 in Disneyworld. I know where I’d rather be.

When I left the school at 12pm I headed to a local shopping center to collect my glasses. My current ones needed repairs so I left them there.

I didn’t have time for a proper lunch so I grabbed a sweet chili scroll from Bakers Delight and ate it in the car…

on the way to my beauticians, where I had a lovely facial. It was so nice to be relax (been a crazy week so far) and I even fell asleep when the face mask was on.

Even though I looked horrid I headed back to the shop to collect my glasses. I also ducked in the supermarket, marvelling at the yummy smelling summer fruits and buying my first cherries of the season.

Of course, I had to stop for an Iced Chocolate at Gloria Jeans.

Then it was time to get the kids from the bus and school. Back home Christy was kind enough to carry in my bags (without even being asked).

I cut her up some watermelon. She has two very wobbly teach and finds it hard to eat anything that isn’t soft.

I then went to collect the dogs from Nan & Pop’s and stayed for a chat, while the dogs played.

Back home and Christy was helping Shantel make a video with her dogs.

When Kevin arrived home he was kind enough to carry around a bag of chicken food, and even filled up their dish.

While I got busy finishing off the cauliflower soup I’d made.

I also got our cherries washed. Don’t they look delicious?

Time for dinner – cauiflower soup and some bread.

Then into winter jammies (as it was still cold) and onto watching a few episodes of Project Runway Australia.

I found Bailey snuggling with Christy.

After my early morning I ended up heading to bed at 8.30pm when I took Christy up to bed. I managed to read just a little before calling it quits and going to sleep.
