Last day of craziness….hopefully…

Thursday was hopefully the last day that would crazy busy for some time. The last few weeks have been far too hectic for me and I’ve missed being at home, and hanging out with my pups.

As most days, it began with a morning walk.

IMG_7482.jpg

I then went to the chiropractor as I’ve had a sore back for some time now (mainly first thing in the morning but it’s been getting worse). I then had to get my groceries and attend to various other jobs. Later I had to pick up Amy from her drama rehearsal, then take Christy to swimming, then take Amy back into Wollongong for her drama performance. I was in & out the house for hours!!! Being that it had been such a busy and crazy day we decided to have a quick dinner out before the show (Amy had to be there an hour early). We opted for yummy Mexican and I had a lovely quesadilla..

On the back of the theatre there is a lot of street art so we took so we took some time to admire it. Hopefully in the school holidays we’ll get to go and see the rest that has been put up as part of the Wollongong Wonderwalls Festival.

Then it was time to sit and relax and enjoy Amy’s drama performance.

Though I didn’t understand much of what was going on, it was great seeing all the kids up on stage. And, of course, we thought Amy did an amazing job.

Basketball season begins

Once again the day started with a walk to the lake. However, today it was a bit later (it was cool out this morning) and I had Kevin with me.

IMG_6979.jpg

We let the dogs off for a run and they chased the swans away.

IMG_7102.JPG

Back home I decided it was time they had a bath.

IMG_6991.JPG IMG_7105.jpg

Then I helped Kevin finish off the cable room. It was in desperate need of a good declutter and tidy (which you will know if you saw the vlog on the 22nd). Such an improvement. And now I don’t have to worry about injuring myself when I go in there.

IMG_7111.jpg IMG_7112.jpg

For an afternoon snack I made some kale chips. Love that the girls really enjoy these.

IMG_6998.JPG

It was the best day outside.

IMG_6995.JPG

So I took the dogs out for a brush and foot fur trim (which was well overdue).

IMG_7127.JPG

Then I sat out in the pavilion for a while working on my Germany photo book (yep, still working on that !!!!)

IMG_7137.JPG

Then tonight was the first home game of the basketball season.

IMG_7140.JPG

And it was a special one for the Hawks who celebrated 1000 games.

IMG_7149.JPG

They also retired the jersey of my fav player ever – Melvin Thomas.

IMG_7160.JPG

I was very excited to find baked sweet potatoes on offer for dinner. Much yummier than the salad wrap I am usually stuck with.

IMG_7001.JPG

We had some unusual and funny entertainment tonight.

IMG_7162.JPG

And best of all we won. Yay!

IMG_7167.JPG

Kevin came with me tonight as the girls were having dinner at Nan’s. Christy is my usual basketball partner as Kevin really isn’t very interested any more, but he was good enough to come with me. We had to pick up our tickets and I didn’t want any hassles.

Do you have any events you attend without your partners? In addition to the basketball, I sometimes attend concerts on my own, though nowadays one of the girls might come with me.

An unexpected visitor

Today started with another lovely walk. It was a lot warmer today and there were LOTS of flies (I assume due to the hot weather we’ve been having).

IMG_6897.jpg

I switched over Christy’s bedding to her Summer bedspread.

IMG_7033.JPG

Today was a home day, so no make up. I still make sure to take care of my skin though.

IMG_7035.JPG

Hubby to the rescue again. I was starting to have problems with the screen on my camera, so Kevin provided me with a new one. Not my favourite colour but I least a have a working camera for my photos and vlogs.

IMG_6903.jpg

I spent most of the morning working in my office (still need to work out what I’m going to call it but office sounds fitting). I think I probably just need one more session and it will all be done. Yay!

IMG_7048.JPG

Christy was home sick and was kind enough to sew a button on Amy’s school shirt.

IMG_7051.JPG

I had an unexpected visitor today. Leanne was coming down to Wollongong and was kind enough to drop by with the Halloween candles I had ordered from Partylite. She was able to stay for some lunch and tea and we had a lovely catch up (without interuptions from hubbies or kids 🙂 ).

IMG_7054.JPG

I’m so happy with all the candles I got. I’ll share them all next week when I do a Halloween Decor tour but I just wanted to share this fragrance warmer & candle/melt. The wax was a fluero yellow (which seemed odd) but it melts to be a glowing green. Just brilliant!! Smells devine too :-).

Day trip to Sydney

Today started with a stunning sunrise. Shame I wasn’t feeling well enough for a walk, nor did I really have time.

IMG_6837.JPG

Amy & I left home just after 7am as it was we were headed up to Sydney to see her neuro-opthamologist for a review. They always have a lovely flower display, and today was no exception.

IMG_6775.JPG

We had the good news that the bleeding at the back of her eye has stopped and the growth seems to be shrinking.

IMG_6778.jpg

The following photo is sidewise but you can the progress/improvement of her eye.

IMG_6821.jpg

After being there for 2 hours we headed home, stopping at Miranda for lunch at Salsa’s….

IMG_6781.JPG

and some shopping…Dusk halloween decor… didn’t buy any I’ve got some stuff from Partylite.

Kikki K….

IMG_6855.JPG

Here’s my little haul from Kikki K.

IMG_6891.JPG

We also checked out the Christmas stuff in David Jones.

IMG_6863.jpg   IMG_6865.jpg

On the way home we encountered lots of smoke from the bushfires, which are now all over NSW.

IMG_6884.JPG

This was just around the corner from our house but the fire was up over the mountain.

IMG_6790.jpg

Later in the afternoon Christy had her first (return) swimming lesson. The teacher was surprised at how much she had remembered.

IMG_6798.JPG

IMG_6796.jpg

With all the smoke I was surprised we managed to get a spectacular sunset.

IMG_6910.JPG

Tonight instead of ice cream I tried this frozen yoghurt. It was really good and will be great to have as a replacement.
