I was going to do my normal blog post about my day but since I’m rather short on time (with just one full day left till we leave for Germany) I’m hoping you don’t mind another video. After all it has all the same photos, just with some extra video. And I did a voice over to explain what was going on.

A Day in my Life – 14th March, 2013
Can you believe this I’ve being doing a Day in the life posts for 5 years? How crazy is that? But such a great record to have – esp. of the girls. Anyone remember back then? I obviously didn’t really know what I was doing the first time and my posts got a lot more detailed (and photo heavy) after that.
So what did the 14th March, 2013 look like? It was your typical start. Up around 5.30am, dogs out, tea made, YouTube watched. Unfortunately Rosie went right under our back deck and came inside with muddy paws – which I didn’t know about until I spotted the mud all over the carpet and spots where she had been. This is Bailey but Rosie had obviously been on this lounge earlier.
Around 7am I got dressed and ready to take the dogs on a walk. I’ve been wearing the dog walking belt as a place to put my phone. I usually put it in my bra but I get to sweaty at the moment.
Due to Rosie’s muddy paws I had put the dogs outside so I collected them from the side gate.
and we headed down to the park for our walk. We managed a pretty fast pace today for the first time in a long time.
When we got back I hosed off Rosie’s muddy feet then went inside to recover. Christy was dressed and ready for school so worked on her homework.
I got the washing started….
then saw Christy off to school.
I then cleaned off the lounge before the mud got spread further.
Then it was time for my breakfast – a berry and mango smoothie. I know it doesn’t look very good but it tasted delicious.
While having breakfast I did a bit of shopping….
then hung out the washing.
You might notice that I haven’t showered. There is a good reason. I had a skin biopsy yesterday and I’m not allowed to get the area wet for 24 hours. Instead I got to work in the kitchen, starting with the open shelves….
In amongst tackling cupboards I took out food to the chooks and collected the eggs. Our broodie girl has finally come off the eggs.
I also baked some veggies….
and tidied my desk, while updating details of our Germany trip.
There were labels for the pantry.
And finally a welcomed break for lunch and YouTube.
Afterwards I headed back into the kitchen while Rosie and Bailey enjoyed a treat.
I didn’t have to pick up Amy today as she was staying in town with some school friends then heading to Drama lessons. I cut up some watermelon for Christy.
who came home with a card she’d made for me.
I worked on my grocery haul video….
then vacuumed the mud off the floor….
Time for a snack – lentil soup and rockmelon.
I then took the bins out,
I prepared some veggies for my dinner…
and made some almond milk…
Time for the puppies dinner…
and my dinner….quinoa, veggies and a ginger sauce…
Christy buttered some bread to go with her soup. And since it was just the two of us we enjoyed dinner on the couch while watching Got to Dance, followed by a few episodes of the Pioneer Woman. One of the episodes was all about chocolate – which was a little hard to watch.
Amy sent me a photo of the new Mexican place that Kevin and her dined at.
I was in a bit of pain tonight so decided to head to bed when Christy went up at 8.30pm. I made some mint tea to enjoy.
After saying goodnight to Christy I did my evening skin care….
then hopped into bed to watch some more YouTube and enjoy my tea.
Final beauty care…
and puppies on the bed since Kevin wasn’t home.
Amy and Kevin arrived home about 9.30pm. I read some blogs and turned off the lights about 10pm.
And if you’d like to see all this in video mode you can (as my new camera takes video every time you take a photo).
A day in my life – 28th Feb, 2013
I was up around 6am today and painted my nails while enjoying my morning cuppa.
When my lyrica (pain med) had kicked in, the dogs and I headed off for our walk. Stunning sunrise again this morning.
Such a magical time of day.
Even if it’s so humid out.
Back home I hung up the leads….
and got myself a BIG glass of water, as I melted into a big puddle….
It’s taking the dogs and I a good 30-60mins to recover from our walks at the moment, but after I’d cooled down I got on with emptying the dishwasher…
and having a cheese & pineapple jaffle for breakfast (Christy had already made herself some French Toast).
After Christy left on her scooter I went upstairs. Checking the girls rooms I was very impressed that BOTH rooms were tidy today. And Amy’s was all ready for her friend who is sleeping over tonight.
I showered, dressed and did my makeup….
Then it was time to grab some water and hit the road….
for the drive down to Berry….
where I was to meet Paola at the Berry Tea Shop.
It was lovely to catch up as we’d had to cancel our last planned met up because Amy was sick.
We had some yummy tea and scones…
and wandered around the shops in Berry.
Unfortunately it started to rain rather heavily and most cafes are outdoors so we ended up abandoning our efforts to find somewhere to have lunch and headed our seperate ways.
As you can see I was quite wet by the time I got back to my car.
Which meant my drive home wasn’t quite so nice, but luckily it cleared up as I headed North.
Driving back it was eerie to see all the trees that had been destroyed by the tornado (yes, tornado) that went through the area last weekend.
I went home via the school to drop off some uniforms I had collected yesterday.
Then headed home to make myself a VERY late lunch.
I was only home for an hour before it was time to head back out again. Since Amy had a friend coming over and I hadn’t had time to orgnaise any afternoon tea I went to the bus stop via a local bakery.
I picked up all three girls…
and headed home with afternoon tea. I was still full from lunch so didn’t have my piece until later.
After playing online for a bit I started making dinner ….
while the girls played some games…
Tonights dinner was pumpkin pasta bake.
After dinner Kevin drove the girls into town for the Ed Sheeran concert.
Christy and I got started on Got to Dance – our favourite show to watch together.
Later after she went to bed, Kevin and I had some popcorn while watching The Borgias.
Around 10.30pm Kevin headed back into town to pick up the girls who returned home rather excited and happy about the concert.
A Day in My Life – Friday 15th February
Awake around 5.30pm. Tea in a different teapot since I broke my other one.
Watched YouTube. Have bad arthritis pain and no pain meds left so no walk (plus it’s cold and drizzly out) but there are cuddles with Bailey.
Kevin come down and waits for Amy to be ready before they head off.
I then head upstairs to make the bed, collect the dirty washing and have my shower.
As you can see it’s pretty yuck out there.
Downstairs I find Christy making French toast for us for breakfast.
She had planned to ride with a friend but since it was rainy I drove her to school. Check out all the cockatoos on the wires.
After drop off I go to the local chemist to get my pain meds.
Back home put the washing in the dryer and hang up a few items.
I then spent about 10mins and got my desk tidy (again).
Next up was collecting the egss and turfing Mama chook (who is still broody) out of the chook house (so she can get some food and water)
I’ve missed baking since going sugar free so tried to make a sugar free cake. Unfortunately it was a BIG flop.
I’m wanting to get back to my scrapbooking and project life so I thought I’d best tidy my work space first.
I then made myself a salad for lunch.
Then worked on Project Life.
And changed out some photo frames. Our family has changed just a little bit since 2007 🙂
At 3pm I went and picked up Amy, then Christy and her friend. I dropped the younger two off at her friends house as Christy was going for a sleepover.
Back home I had a bowl of lentil soup, then worked on my Foodie Friday blog post.
I got a phone call from Christy saying she had forgot to pack her underpants so I had to drop them around. As you can see it has turned out a nice afternoon.
Bailey had fun meeting the friends dog.
Home again it was time for the puppies worm and flea treatment. As you can see Bailey is very keen. Rosie not so much as she hates the flea treatment.
Dinner time.
Since it was just the 3 of us I opted for an easy dinner of vol a vents with leftover Quorn bolognase sauce, and a dollop of heart shaped sour cream.
I then changed into my jammies and got settled on the couch for some Doctor Who.
Later we enjoyed some berries.
With some whipped cream. I only ended up eating half of mine.
Kevin and Amy (who had fallen sleep on the couch) headed up to bed around 8.30pm but I stayed up and ended up watching Push Girls – which was rather interesting, while munching on some popcorn.
I head to bed around 9.30pm and read blogs on my i-pad for a bit before going to sleep.
