Meet Bailey

bailey

Wow, when I woke up this morning I did not know I would be getting a little golden puppy this afternoon. We had thought to get an older dog – another golden – and I have been looking since we got back from our trip. But today Kevin (who arrived home yesterday afternoon) suggested we get a pup. I rang up one place – $900 and then another – $480 – cause it was there last pup. We picked the girls up early from school and drove up to Sydney to meet the 9 week male. When we arrived the Mum & Dad came running up to meet us with their tails wagging. So it was a good first impression. And then we met the pup and instantly fell in love. We orginally named him Darwin – Kevin’s idea – but I kept on wanting to call him Bailey so we’ve decided to go with that name.

I nursed him on the way home and he tried to get a bit of sleep.

When we arrived home we introduced him to Rosie who was very excited to have a playmate. They have been playing almost non-stop since we got home and they are both sleep under my chair at the moment. I think they are going to be great friends.

Happy Birthday to Rosie

Our Rosie turned 2 today. We had a little party for her this afternoon (in amongst a stressful afternoon with the girls – why is it when you try do something fun for them they muck up?). Rosie seemed to enjoy the attention – and her cake.

This is the mess I came home to last night. I think she was celebrating her last day as a one year old. Me, I wasn’t impressed as I’d just cleaned this room and getting straw off carpet is rather hard.

And finally, a face you just have to love.

Pool fun and Rosie Bucket head

It’s been such bad weather all week – not good for school holidays but we’ve kept busy.

On Wednesday we went shopping at Miranda with Nanny and to see “Horton Sees A Who” – which was very cute and funny.

Thursday I went to exchange some clothes I bought for Kevin yesterday (they were too big), then Mum joined us at the Stampin’ Up open house. Had some lunch out and got a few groceries for our trip. Felt very inspired from the stamp day and scrapbooked till 7pm – you’ve already seen the results.

Then yesterday, Friday, I took Rosie into the vets – she had her drains removed, then went to the beauticians to get my nails done, then drove up to meet Leanne & the girls at Mt.Annan indoor pool. The girls had a great time on the big inflatable slide – though only Sarah and Christy managed to get to the end.l They were in the water for 4 hours – stopping only for lunch.IMG_6218

Home again we decided to take Rosie back to the vets to get her wounds checked. This time she came home looking like this…

Chooks in the garden

Well, it’s that time of year when the veggie garden is getting a bit bare and I can let the chickens out for a scratch around in it. They were so happy when they realized they could dig in the garden (they have no grass in their area as they’ve destroyed it long ago). Rounding them up to put them away again is another story. Rosie was funny, keeping a real close eye on them. They were only allowed in one half of the garden so I had to watch them carefully as well.
