Rosie’s surgery

Rosie post surgery

On Saturday I felt a small lump on Rosie’s back so on Monday I took her in to the vets. They managed to draw out quite a bit of fluid but there were also some cells – which shouldn’t be there. They felt it best to take it (and some surrounding tissue) out, so yesterday she went in for surgery. It was so quiet around the house without her here . Surgery went well and I’ve just gone and collected her – she was jumping up all over me , she was so excited – so much for taking it easy. Anyway, it’s good to have her home. Not sure when we get the result but she goes back in 10 days to have the stitches removed.

Farewell to Belle

Very sad news last night. Mum rang to say was Belle was very ill and they were taking her to the vets. She couldn’t move and might have to be put to sleep – which she was. I’m so glad Mum & Dad were able to be with her at the end. She was nearly 14 and we’ve known for a while she wouldn’t last much longer. Sounds like she may have broken or damaged her spine so much she couldn’t get up. Poor girl. She was a great friend. At least now we don’t have to worry if she’s in pain and suffering. It’s a bit strange being home and seeing her bed all empty – she spent most of the day lying on it in the scrapbook room. It will be worse when I go to do some scrapbooking.

More videos from Animals AustraliaThis is a short little video – showing what many of us know (but don’t want to acknowledge) about how animals such as chickens and pigs are raised for food. You all know how I love chickens but seeing the pigs is so sad – did you know that a pig is as smart as a 4 year old child – and we’d never treat a four year old the way these pigs are. So sad. Please if you eat these products, buy free range, where the animals get the lead a good life before being killed. And how cool is this? Luke Fox won ad space to run in 100 bus stops and this is what he designed.
