Saturday morning walk

On Saturday morning, we had to drop Amy in town, so we took the opportunity to do our normal longer Saturday morning walk by the beach. Even though it’s late Autumn, it was absolutely glorious out.

We had planned to do our walk first, then let the dogs have a play at the beach, but Bailey was not having that.

While Bailey ran in the water and all over the beach, Rosie got busy digging a big hole.

By the time she finished the hole was almost as big as she is.

Once we tuckered them out a bit we went on our walk. I haven’t been here for probably a year – which really is a crime since it’s only 15mins from our home.

There was not a single cloud in the sky today.

Don’t we live in a gorgeous part of the world?

This is the main harbour where lots of people like to picnic. We used the bring the girls here a lot when they were younger.

Do you have a special place like this close to home that you hardly ever visit?

Saturday morning walk

On Saturday morning it was already rather hot when we headed out on our walk at 8.30am so we took the alternate route to get some shade. There’s not much to say so I’ll just let the photos tell the story.

One day I’d love to sit here for a while and just soak in the view.

Recently a lot of exercise equipment has been installed in this park. I haven’t used it as I always have the dogs with me, but one day I’d like to give a go. I’ve seen others using it which is good. It’s certainly what you’d call working out with a view.

We actually walked almost twice what we normally do, at a fast pace, and came back rather exhausted. But I still had enough in me to do an upper body workout :-).

Do you have a special place to walk or do some outdoor exercise?

An early morning walk

It’s been some time since I went for an early morning walk. First my arthritis was acting up, then it was too cold and dark. But now that we’re in Spring I’m excited to get back to walking as the sun is coming up. Definitely THE best way to start the day.

On this particular morning the sun was already past the horizon when we set off out the gates…

Almost at the lake….

Ducks (and us) enjoying the sunrise…

And my walking buddies who were happy to pose with the sunrise.

I’m going to take my video camera along sometime soon so you can see how truly beautiful this place is.

Fabulous Friday

Finally some glorious sunshine. Perfect for my drive down to Berry to meet up with my friend Paola. Kiama looked just  a little different to when I was here last week. I was actually meant to come down last Friday but we postponed due to the bad weather.

And with all the rain we’ve had Gerringong was even greener than normal.

Berry is such a beautiful old town. One day I will have remember to get some better photos.

I met Paola at the Berry Tea Shop

where we chatted and enjoyed tea. I also had the most delicious cupcake.

We then shopped, and chatted some more, before stopping for lunch. Every shop keeper commented on the weather and it was lovely to sit outside in this little peaceful courtyard and enjoy our food.

Luckily Paola suggested it was time to go as I had no idea it was already 2pm, and I needed to be back to pick Amy up from the bus stop. Another lovely drive home.

Dinner tonight was nachos before I headed off to the basketball.

No-one else wanted to go so I went by myself. Great game, though I started getting some stomach pains on my way, so maybe I should have stayed at home. With the exception of the day ending with me feeling unwell, I had such a lovely indulgent day. It was most definitely a fabulous Friday.
