Mood swings and simple living

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching over the last few days. For some
reason I’m not “happy” with
life. I’ve been spending out of control the last
few weeks (though luckily I have enough money in our savings account to cover
it and it’s not stupid stuff just not essential stuff). But I do have a problem and am obviously
shopping to fulfill a need. One website I’ve found great has
been www.simpleliving.net <http://www.simpleliving.net/> . There is a
forum called ENOUGH and that’s been just what I’ve needed. I’ve made a list
of everything I have enough of and some ways to not add to it. I’ve
also made a list of things I need to do to simply my life and this week
I will be focusing on those things around the house. We had friends
for lunch yesterday so the house got a little clean so I won’t do the
WHB today and will get started on my simple living list. I also think I
have a problem with mood swings and lethargy and I think sugar might be
to blame so I’m going to try eliminating sugar from my diet as much
as possible.

I’m challenging myself to a no shop week (except
groceries).

Living life to the fullest

Now I have to admist I’m not a huge Steve Irwin fan but I liked the guy and admired the work he does prompting animal welfare, so I was very sad to hear that he died yesterday from a stringray (cardiac arrest). Not a very common diving-related death. It makes you realize just how quickly a life can be extinguished – I mean yesterday morning he would just have been getting ready for work and today he is no more. I really feel for his kids – they just 8 and 3. It certainly makes you think though – you never know when your time is up so you really have to live life to the fullest. At least Steve Irwin certainly did – I’m sure he would have had no regreats except not spending more years with his wife and kids. Every day he did something he loved and certainly lived a full, rich life. I wonder how many of us could say the same?
I think I would be reasonably satisified with my life but I know there are still things on my life to-do list. Guess I should think some more about getting them done.
