The week that was

Sorry I’ve not been posting much lately. With our trip now less than 2 weeks away I’m spending lots of time on the computer finalizing our plans and making sure everything is in order.

The weather has been gorgeous – crazy when Winter is just 2 weeks away. I even spent time out by the pool on Saturday.

By the pool

So what else did I do this week? I finally satisfied a craving I’ve had for bagels (so many of my favourite youtubers have bagels for lunch every day).

I purchased my first products from Mac….

They worked in the kitchen from 4pm to get dinner organised…

Dinner underway

and the results were great. Everything was really yummy.

Then after dinner (and Nan & I cleaning up the kitchen) there was the entertainment. Christy played the keyboard…she has been teaching herself for a few weeks…

The week that was

The first half of the week wasn’t too bad. There was  a visit to the Docs to get a referral to see someone about my swollen hands & feet, and I was feeling well enough to get the house all cleaned.

Driving home

to take Amy to a 3-day Music camp…

There was a lovely manicure and pedicure… and the first inklings of a sore throat.

(untitled)

Unfortunately I didn’t feel too great the rest of week – I think it’s just a head cold but I’ve had a upset tummy as well. This resulted in a number of baths and plenty of time on the couch. Kevin joined me when he was home – playing World of Warcraft, as he does most nights.

We also re-instigated Family Movie Night by watching Hoodwinked together and had the heater on for the first time this season, with Bailey being quick to position himself right in front of it.

The Week That Was

With all our travels it’s been a while since I did one of these posts. I do enjoy them as a way to share random photos or photos taken for my Project Life album. This week we returned home from our fabulous long weekend in Canberra, with no intention of leaving for another 5.5 weeks.

There were beautiful fresh flowers to be enjoyed….

IMG_1352

There was a very sad looking chicken (vet said it was just excessive malting)…

IMG_1356

There were pups to be played with…and photographed being cute…

IMG_1373

There were friends to play Masterchef with… wedges and scones were made and enjoyed…

IMG_1382

There was, of course, the Royal Wedding, to watch on Friday night. Amy only watched a little of the actual ceremony with us. I watched the BBC coverage from 5pm until after the kiss. Christy surprised me by watching the whole ceremony. She loved knowing she had stood at the gates of Buckingham palace last year

IMG_1379

And insisted on staying up until they kissed – she JUST made it.

IMG_1380

There was  a new chicken house bought and assembled…

IMG_1387

IMG_1385

It’s been nice being back home, and getting back into our normal routines. Unfortunately I’ve really been suffering with swollen hands and feet (going to Docs tomorrow) and my heel spur is bad again so I’m just trying to get my house back in order as I can. It’s going to be a bit of slow, and frustrating, process :-(.
