The (sick) week that was

This week saw me make huge piles of tissues wherever I went…

IMG_3960.JPG

I’ve been feeling horrible all week – runny nose, body aches and pains, sinus headaches and finally a chesty cough :-(. Luckily Tuesday was one of my better day as I had to renew my license. I think this photo is just a  “little” better than the one from 5 years ago :-). Wish I’d known I could smile (was thinking it was the same as passport photos).

New drivers license

This week also saw Amy out of action….

IMG_3968.JPG

which meant lots of time hanging out on the new lounge…not that the pups seemed to mind…

IMG_3974.JPG

This week I only managed to take the dogs out on Monday. They did take the opportunity to lie out on the sun a few times….

IMG_3954.JPG

This week there was lots of easy, comfort food made and consumed… including a lovely cottage pie made with Quorn (which we all loved)…

IMG_3966.JPG

and Amy & I enjoyed an Indian Lunch on Tuesday which we bought while out shopping in town (our only trip out all week)….

IMG_3959.JPG

It was the week I received an invitation to my second cousins 1st Birthday party. I haven’t even met the little cutie yet so I’m really looking forward it.

IMG_3969.JPG

This week I took a photo of the Smurf movie poster for Christy as she is VERY excited about the movie (having watched all the TV episodes MANY times)…it was in a men’s clothing store which I thought I bit odd…

IMG_1095.jpg

Sick week culminated in a marathon movie weekend – with all of us settling in to watch 5 Harry Potter movies over the weekend…and we watched most of no.6 as well. It’s the first time for Christy watching beyond the first 2 and she’s enjoying them – and not scared (which is the reason I haven’t let her watch them before now).

This week there were lots of cute puppies on the couch moments but I’ll just share 2. Bailey…

Hoping to get over this VERY soon. It’s been 1.5 weeks and I’ve had enough. I want to get back into getting the house organised (while my feet are so good) and back to regular blogging. And Amy & I have the Enrique Iglesias concert to be 100% for on Saturday night.

The week that was

It was a bit of a strange, quiet week, with not much accomplished. As you will see I didn’t even take many photos.

The week began with Kevin heading off to hospital (in Sydney) to have a hernia repaired. He sent me this photo while he was waiting.

The patient

I went to see him on Tuesday and couldn’t get over how good he was doing.

Recovering

Amy had a friend to sleep over. They made a big paint mess and even went in the pool – crazy kids!!!

Kids painting mess

Mum was looking after a friends dog and we ended up puppy sitting for a few hours when they were out. My pups love Cara so they had lots of fun.

Friends visiting

On Wed morning I got this text from Kevin.

Messaging

Unfortunately I couldn’t go to pick up him up right away as I had an appointment about my hands & feet. Biggest bummer – it’s still an unspecific something-or-other that can only be treated on a pain basis. As the doc said it really is good news in way because there is no inflamation or joint damage.  Still, I would like an answer to my aches and pains.

Besides visiting Kevin in hospital and picking him up I only really went out to get groceries. On one trip Christy came with me and ended up getting her ears pierced (again).

Ears pierced (again)

I did also visit the Skin Clinic for the biopsy results. Unfortunately the mole is cancerous so will have to be removed. The doc wasn’t concerned at all and it sounds like it’s a very straight forward procedure.

On Saturday morning we cleared out the lounge room…

Empty loungeroom

ready for our new lounge to be delivered. This was the first piece to come in.

First part of new lounge

And altogether (photo taken on my phone)

New lounge

We really love it. It’s so comfy and there is plenty of room for us all.

Getting settled on the new lounge

The chaise lounge seems to be favoured by the pups.

Rosie & Kevin cuddle on the lounge Bailey loves the new lounge

The Powells arrived just as the lounge was being put together as they were taking ownership of our old one. They stayed for the day and Leanne & I took the girls (except Amy) roller skating. Unfortunately both Amy & I have been feeling under the weather with a cold/sinus problem. So with Kevin recovering from surgery, Amy & I not well, and a new lounge to enjoy, Sunday naturally became a jammie day.

Lazy Sunday

You can now understand why no blogging occurred this week :-).
