Today we were treated to a stunning sunrise (even though we couldn’t actually see where it rose). Pop & I made a trip into town to the Bakery and Newsagents.
Then it was breakfast. Today I had some cereal…
and a croissant.
We then packed up and drove around to Shoal Bay..
to visit the beach…
Not sure we picked the best spot but it was nice enough and we enjoyed a swim…
some cherries…
and the view from under our broken umbrealla….
It was really hot today so after lunch on the verandah and a relax (and break from the sun), we headed down to the pool for a swim.
This morning Christy and I were up super early to head out a Wild Dolphin Swim, though I was just an observer. After getting fitted for her gear our boat headed out just as the sun was starting to rise.
After motoring out through the heads, it wasn’t too long before dolphins were spotted. Christy was in the first group, and I think she got the best swim.
Be sure to watch the video at the end to see just how close the dolphins were to Christy.
Christy loved it, though she found it a little challenging being pulled through the water while trying to snorkel. It was such an awesome experience for her.
While the other groups did there swim, we were able to enjoy the dolphins swimming along beside us.
Then it was time to head back to Nelson Bay.
Dad picked us up and we enjoyed lunch on our verandah.
Before another lazy afternoon, during which both Christy & I had an afternoon nap. An another dinner enjoyed as the day ended.
After a lazy morning and breakfast of banana on toast and milo, we headed up to the Lighthouse Cafe. We come here every trip as it has awesome views.
And great food. I had a chicken salad, without the chicken. And suprisingly they charged less (which doesn’t happen too often).
We finished the day with a lazy afternoon reading for hours. It was a HOT day so it was nice to just chill out in front of the fan. Dad was nice enough to cook us a BBQ for dinner.
Early mornings are always such a special time of day, and even though I haven’t yet been feeling up a walk, I can still enjoy seeing the day get brighter and the birds beginning their day.
Nan felt like French toast so I made that for breakfast.
But I had a bowl of my fav. cereal, then just one slice of French toast.
After a slow morning we went out to pick up a few things at the shops, and to try and get a camera charger (as I had forgotten mine). No luck, but at least I’ve still got my phone and GoPro.
We headed to the harbour for lunch and decided on Cafe on the Bay.
I ordered the bruschetta and it was delicious. We all really enjoyed our lunch.
We then did a little bit of shopping. Christy got some new shorts.
We had a bit of time before her booking for the Thunder Raft, so we went to Aqua Blue. Nan ordered Christy this Rocky Road cheesecake, but she didn’t want it. I had a taste and it was delicious, but very rich.
I really enjoyed my very decadent Iced Chocolate.
As we waited we could see the clouds rolling in. We then found out her trip had been put back an hour so we went for a little drive out to Shoal Bay…
and came back to the apartment. Pop offered to take Christy back down as my feet were very swollen and sore again.
Not even 20 mins later the rain had stopped and the clouds had rolled on by…
Perfect timing for Christy’s ride.
She enjoyed it but said it was a bit too rough and she had to hold on really tight.
Hoping to try and rest my legs, I went to lie on my bed and do some blog reading.
Dinner for me was a cheese & salad wrap, enjoyed out on our veranda.
