Small Organising Projects

I have a lot of organising projects on my to-do list but many are all day jobs, some like the scrapbook room, would even take days, if not weeks. When I’m busy or just not up to tackling a big project I try to take on a small one. Yesterday I did the girls vanity. Honestly it took about 15mins. Love that I get to cross off a project as being done. I also gave their bathroom I tidy (but did not clean).

I can’t really sort through Amy’s stuff any more so I left the drawers for her to do, in additional to the basket she on top of the vanity. While tidying I put stuff for Amy and Christy to sort through into a tub.

I got rid of things I knew no-one was using and tidied up or rehomed the rest.

I try to repurpose containers so I grabbed the black beauty case that was lying empty in one cupboard and made it a place to store my lush products, which were in the purple bag.

Now I can see all my goodies.

I also keep a few lush products in this tub which lives on a shelf above the bath and I’m making it a mission to use up my stash before I buy anymore.

How do you tackle your organising projects? Do you break them up into smaller projects?

Family Fun Day

I had great plans for a full day out for our family fun day – possibly the markets, or a museum. Unfortunately both the girls weren’t feeling well (having been struggling with the flu for a few days now) so we just decided to head out for some lunch. Our chosen destination is just 1/2 hour from home.

IMG_2898.JPG

In particular a vegetarian cafe we’ve been meaning to visit forever. This is the first I’ve ever been to, besides the Nan Tien Temple.

IMG_2881.JPG

Inside was lovely. A nice welcoming fire…

IMG_2882.jpg

and a cute lamp on our table.

IMG_2883.JPG

One of the best things is that Amy and I could chose from anything on the entire menu :-).

IMG_2884.jpg

But of course the best thing was getting to hang out with my family :-).

IMG_2889.JPG IMG_2890.JPG

Kevin wanted to share the sampler plate. Holy moly. Check out the size of it! We ate all the nachos (who knew sweet chili sauce would be so good on nachos), and about half the dips and pita chips. I bought home the rest. The salad went to the chooks and I enjoyed the rest of the pita chips for my afternoon snack.

IMG_2891.JPG

Gerringong is one gorgeous seaside town. This is the view from the very small main street.

IMG_2892.JPG

If the girls had been feeling better we might have gone for  a walk around but instead we just drove down to the beach where I snapped a few photos. My Dad always camped here as a child  and I’ve got a very special photo of my Grandpa and me taken here (he died when I was just 3 years old) so it’s a special place.

Towards to ocean….

IMG_2893.JPG

Towards the mountains…Rain threatened all day long but never eventuated.

IMG_2894.JPG

I think we’ll definitely have to come back in the Summer. Have lunch at the cafe, a swim at the beach and end the day with an ice-cream :-).
