The week that was

It was the week I spent much time up at the school packing uniform orders (with the help of my wonderful Mum) . Both girls were home sick and Christy is still not 100%. It was the week Jasmine died at the ancient (for a guinea pig) age of 6.5yrs.

It was the week of more glorious Summer weather….not!!!!

which meant it was perfect weather for hot chocolates (courtesy of the advent calender)….

It was the week of Christy’s choir performance at the Wollongong Mall….

and the week she finally set up our Christmas village…

It was the week of my last Christmas shopping trip…hopefully….

and the week the girls helped with chores around the house….our dishwasher packed it in on Saturday so there was quite a lot of hand washing to be done….

It was the week Kevin printed and framed our canvas photos…

and hung them on the wall for me….

It was the week of a nail polish delivery…. I did try not to get TOO carried away :-)…

and a new polish applied…

It was the week of fresh pickings from the garden….

It was the week we celebrated Nan’s Birthday…

And the girls had their dance concert…didn’t get any photos there but we had a repeat performance the next day…with a much better view…

It was the week we saw Arthur Christmas at the movies….

And it was the week I found both dogs sleeping on the same lounge….

IMG_6697.JPG

and they had a visit to Santa…

IMG_6754.JPG

They were so perfectly behaved, even Santa commented on how good they were. So good they got a present….

Farewell to the last piggy standing

IMG_4273.JPG

I knew Jasmine wasn’t well last night. I took our outside to eat some grass but she just wasn’t herself. I cuddled her for a bit and realized she couldn’t see. When I put her back in her cage and she didn’t eat her fresh spinach, I knew she was nearing the end. And at 6.5 years old that’s not surprising. This morning I found her dead in her little house.  She was the last of the three little pigs.

I’m a bit sadder than normal (when an older pet dies) because she was my guinea pig. We originally bought 2 – one for each of the girls – but then I wanted one so we went back to get her the next day. It’s already sad when I walk by the cage and there is no sound of her moving around or squeaks that she wants some food.

So glad it’s the weekend

Sorry there’s been nothing on blog this week. I’ve had the girls home most of the week sick. Not that I was home with them. I wanted too but couldn’t as I had to deal with this…

I think there were well over 30 boxes of new school uniforms (we have a totally new look school uniform).  Mid packing looking like this, and these photos don’t do justice to the chaos we experienced at times.

After almost 3 days Mum (who was the most wonderful helper) and I had packed nearly 200 orders.

I felt so sorry having the leave the sick girls to fend for themselves but I had no choice. They were so good about it. But Christy kept calling asking when I’d be home – she wanted her Mum :-(. My Dad was just next door much of time but on Friday morning Amy went to school and Christy was all by herself. That’s when you miss having no siblings to call on for help.

Anyway, finally we returned the room to state of order…..

just don’t look at the other half of the room….

which is stack of old uniforms and empty boxes waiting to be flattened.

Now I just need everyone to pick up their orders next week, then I sit back and relax and get ready for Fiji!!!
