A trip to Sydney

On Wed and Thurs the girls & I headed up Sydney so Amy could attend a study course. To avoid battling too much traffic we decided to stay overnight. Around 10 on Wednesday we packed up the car & headed off. Someone else wanted to come along….

We drove to Ashfield, where the course was being held in the community club, and had some lunch in the bistro.

Not a great photo of Christy & I. Overhead lighting and glasses do not make for a good look :-). I forgot to photograph lunch (something I struggle with if I’m vlogging as well) but Christy and I shared wedges, mashed potato and some cheesy, garlic bread – carb overload indeed.

We left Amy to attend her course and drove over to Westfield Burwood. I used to come here monthly when my friend Lucy and I used to run a bookgroup at a nearby romance book store. Lucy (who was the first person I ever met from the internet) now runs her own store, Ever After in Wollongong. It bought back many fond memories as I used to bring AMY as a baby.

Christy and I got our (super expensive) tickets for the movies….

We had about an hour before the movie so had a wander around the shops. Of course, I was very naughty and bought some of my fav. lollies.

And how cute are these puppies cakes…. they would be so perfect for our puppy birthday party!

We enjoyed the movie. Christy still loves the Smurfs and was very keen to see the movie.

After the movie we drove back to pick up Amy, then headed to the Best Westerm Philip Lodge, which was about 5mins away. The hotel was REALLY GOOD, much better than I expected (even with good reviews on trip advisor).

Before we got all settled we decided to head out and get an early dinner. Christy ended up with Subway, and Amy & I got Nando’s.

It took a while to get back to the hotel so dinner ended up being at a normal time. We ate, then got settled in bed with our laptops :-). The girls both went to sleep around 8.30pm and I think I lasted till about 9.30pm.
