Muffin Tin Monday

For this weeks MTM we got to choose our own theme. I chose to do make you own ice-cream sundae’s. The girls couldn’t believe it!!! It’s not every day you get to come home from school and eat ice cream.

Last week went well. We all enjoyed dinner by Amy on Tuesday night. We had our own personal menus and were served Spring Rolls with wedges.

And apple crumble for desert. It was delicious.

Then we were served tea and berry muffins while the girls put on a show.

Muffin Tin Monday

This weeks muffin tin Monday had an UNDER THE SEA theme. I did try to think about this one (and do some research on the net) to make it more fun for the girls. When they saw the muffin (esp. Amy’s) I asked them to guess the theme –  Amy got it right away. It’s school holidays (for two more days) so it would going able to make a lunch, rather than a snack.

Amy's muffin tin

I started with the obvious fish pieces shaped like a fish ( it was hard trying to find ones with REAL fish fillets), then added some potato gems (they are my imitation rocks), some shell pasta, tomato ketchup (not really sure what that represents in the ocean), green jelly with some sea snakes and I just couldn’t resist these blue cupcakes when I saw them at the bakery.

Christy’s muffin tin did not look quite so exciting. She wasn’t that pleased but I had to point out that she’s the one who won’t eat real food. She didn’t even touch the pasta or potato gems and had more toast. She didn’t eat her cupcake – so I enjoyed that for afternoon tea :-).

We were very spoilt today and Amy made us a special MTM breakfast.

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin tin goes AWOL

Not sure if I’m going mad or things got changed when I wasn’t looking. I thought the theme for this weeks MTM was MTM goes AWOL. Since we don’t have time on a school Monday to do anything fancy I thought I’d take the muffin tin with us to White Water World. I see the theme MTM goes AWOL is on the 20th – school holidays for us – so we’ll take it on another outing.

The girls thought it great having MTM at the water park and Kevin was pleased he got to participate in one for a change. Because I only had one muffin tin it did require quiet a few refills. Here’s Kevin with the leftovers :-).

We did another MTM today. Today theme is supposed to be Spring/Easter but I only just saw that after we’d eaten ours. Luckily I did include some little chocolate bunnies as we’ll be away again next week. We also had the usual dip, carrot, crackers, cheese, chips, fruit and tiny teddies.

All we had left was some kiwi fruit, which Bailey (dog) enjoyed.
