Converted bananas

IMG_6935.jpg

Another gorgeous morning walk. I will stop with the sunrise photos (or at least slow down), I promise. When I got back Kevin was kind enough to help me put lots of rubbish (from my study declutter) in the bins. As you can see he really took to the task. I honestly don’t know how he made it into the bin. I was certain he was going to come tumbling down – which is why I had the camera ready :-).

I visited an old friend. It was good to get re-aquainted :-).

And I get to enjoy a nice view while I workout, which is an added bonus.

I had a big morning in the kitchen. I cooked baked pumpkin, carmalized onions, prepared 3 salads (one for me today, and one each for Amy & I tomorrow), made corn chowder and converted this bunch of sad looking bananas….

Into this…. banana coconut muffins and healthy banana nut muffins.

While I cooked I was watching YouTube and one of the girls I watch gave her dogs a carrot, so I decided to do the same. Bailey loved it. Rosie wouldn’t take it from me.

When Kevin arrived home he came with a delivery of the new Lust Have it box. Can’t say I was that impressed this month, but the box is SOOO cute. It will make a great gift box if I just put a sticker over the logo. Or I might come up with a use for it in the home.

I’ve really enjoyed getting subscription boxes of late. Do you subscribe to any? I get the Lust have it, the Eco box and Fab box all from Lust have it, and the No Tox Box (which is fabulous).

Homemade Chocolate

Hope you don’t mind more sunrise walks photos. It’s been stunning out there and it’s been so long since I walked at this time of day, I’ve just been drinking it all in. It is much a magical way to start the day, esp. now that the flies aren’t so bad :-).

IMG_6915.jpg

And look, you can see the escarpment again.

IMG_6914.jpg

It was a busy morning with uniform shop and unpacking LOTS of boxes in preparation for the upcoming kindy fittings. Then I did a HUGE grocery shop. Since I’d only had a quick protein drink on the go for breakfast I stopped by Wendy’s for a fruit smoothie. The lady gave me a sample of this raspberry and passionfruit sorbet. It was delicious. And don’t the colours just scream Summer?

IMG_6918.jpg

So instead of my usual watermelon smoothie I decided to try the new raspberry passionfruit smoothie. It was good, but I think I prefer the watermelon one.

IMG_6919.JPG

Finally I made it home with my groceries. I must say I was exhausted. I filmed the fridge/freezer part of my grocery haul (video up soon) and then went and vegged on the couch for awhile before filming the rest.

IMG_6925.jpg

I very excited to buy my first mangos of the season.

IMG_7089.JPG

Didn’t really do a lot for the remainder of the day but I did find time to make some healthy chocolates. While they weren’t really like normal chocolate they were pretty tasty and it’s good to have something like this and not feel guilty :-).

IMG_7090.JPG

It was also great to finally have a use for some of my chocolate moulds, from back in my chocolate making days. Have you ever made chocolates at home? Healthy or otherwise? I used to do coloured and filled chocolates and give them for gifts for Christmas.

An unexpected visitor

Today started with another lovely walk. It was a lot warmer today and there were LOTS of flies (I assume due to the hot weather we’ve been having).

IMG_6897.jpg

I switched over Christy’s bedding to her Summer bedspread.

IMG_7033.JPG

Today was a home day, so no make up. I still make sure to take care of my skin though.

IMG_7035.JPG

Hubby to the rescue again. I was starting to have problems with the screen on my camera, so Kevin provided me with a new one. Not my favourite colour but I least a have a working camera for my photos and vlogs.

IMG_6903.jpg

I spent most of the morning working in my office (still need to work out what I’m going to call it but office sounds fitting). I think I probably just need one more session and it will all be done. Yay!

IMG_7048.JPG

Christy was home sick and was kind enough to sew a button on Amy’s school shirt.

IMG_7051.JPG

I had an unexpected visitor today. Leanne was coming down to Wollongong and was kind enough to drop by with the Halloween candles I had ordered from Partylite. She was able to stay for some lunch and tea and we had a lovely catch up (without interuptions from hubbies or kids 🙂 ).

IMG_7054.JPG

I’m so happy with all the candles I got. I’ll share them all next week when I do a Halloween Decor tour but I just wanted to share this fragrance warmer & candle/melt. The wax was a fluero yellow (which seemed odd) but it melts to be a glowing green. Just brilliant!! Smells devine too :-).

A magical start to the week

Finally over my sinus infection I was able to start the week by heading out nice and early for a lovely morning walk.

IMG_6871.jpg

Though the smoke had cleared a lot, I was treated to this awesome mist (but it did make for a slightly chilly walk though).

IMG_6873.jpg

IMG_6876.jpg

Just after lunch Amy hurt her ankle at school so I had to go pick her up and the smoke was a lot more noticeable in Wollongong and you could only just see the escarpment.
