Disney On Ice

At disney on ice

On Wednesday night we went to see Disney on Ice – I think it was called Mickey and Friends this year. The first half had quick tellings of the Lion King, 101 Dalmations and The Little Mermaid. The second half had longer tellings of Peter Pan and Lilo & Stitch. The girls loved it. I think Kevin and I are getting a little past it. We’ve been every year since they started coming to Wollongong and I guess we’ve kind of seen it all now – there wasn’t anything new or amazing. Anyway, I think we’ll have to think a bit more about whether we go or not next year.

Todays plans are a washout

Well, I had planned to spend time outdoors today. After it rained nearly all week, yesterday was lovely, bright and sunny. Alas we spent most of indoors. So today I had planned on spending time in the veggie garden and cleaning up the chook house/yard. Then I woke to see this… with yesterdays washing still hanging on the clothes line.

My other jobs for the long weekend – helping Kevin clean out the computer room and study aren’t very appealing so I’m not sure what we’ll get up to today. Maybe just a family day at home…

The girls have spent all morning like this…

I’ve told them 10 more minutes then they need to get on with their morning routine – which includes breakfast…

Kevin recently had his first taste of rock climbing and instantly fell in love.

He’s bought all his own equipment and has been going to local indoor rock climbing gym whenever he can. He took the girls last weekend and they loved it so yesterday we all went in so I could belay Kevin and he could do the girls. Kevin is really enjoying the challenge and I’m so pleased that he’s found a physical activity that he enjoys. It’s certainly something he couldn’t have done before WLS.

Happy Birthday….. to me!!!

Gee, no forgetting your age when you have a Wii fit :-).

We were out last night to celebrate my friends Sam’s birthday. It was a great night and so good to see both her (and Sue) again. I used to see these girls on a weekly basis at playgroup and I do miss their company. Lucky for me I’ll be going away with them for the weekend in just a couple of weeks.

This morning I opened some presents from the girls – a bike helmet and some gloves.

After the school uniform shop I made some anzac cookies and took them (and some eggs) to my friend Kay who has been really ill for the last few weeks. It was very nice to catch up and sit and chat. I don’t do it often enough and really need to make more time for my friends.

After lunch I managed to scrapbook a few pages.

After school we had a birthday afternoon tea at my Mum’s. It was extra nice as both Kevin and my Dad were there.

Tonight Kevin was a real sweetie and went out in the rain to get me some rice paper rolls for dinner. We then watched a couple of episodes of Jimmy’s Farm. So it was a very nice birthday indeed.

Hmm..I wonder if the wii fit is trying to tell me to get my butt to the gym…

A great start to Winter

img_0431

I had a great 1st June. To start with I went on Kevin’s motorbike for the first time. And it was so much fun!!! Now I have to get a jacket of my own (so I don’t have to wear Kevin’s old one which is WAYYY to big), gloves (cause my hands froze) and a helmet.

After this we headed up to Sydney (in the car) and went looking for some furniture for my scrapbook room – I desperately need some more shevles. I found what I wanted but we couldn’t pick it up as the warehouse was closed (what’s with that???) so I will order them from the Wollongong store. We won’t put the wheels on the bookshelf and it will sit right on my desk. The ladder (I’m getting white) and soooo cute and will fit right in on my one little piece of empty wall.

Then we headed over to Star City to see Phantom of the Opera.

We were a little early so we had a walk around Darling Harbour and then sat and enjoyed a banana split.

The show was FANTASTIC!!! Even better than I remembered. The music, costumes, staging – all terrific!!!

And finally for a laugh here’s a layout I did of the first time Kevin & I saw Phantom – way back in 1991 – back when I didn’t take many photos – we were poor Uni students so caught the bus down the Melbourne to see the show. I’ve recently found our tickets and some other memorabilia so will have to add it to the layout.

And here’s a close up of the lovely outfit I wore to the theatre… looks like I’m wearing curtains 🙂
