A day in my Life – 31st August, 2012

There is no way it can be the end of August already. I really have no idea what happened to this month.

I woke about 5.45am and let the dogs out. Some mornings Bailey likes to hang outside for a bit. But I usually call him when my tea is ready or else he’ll decide it’s time to come in just I sit down with the laptop and get all comfy.

IMG_3945.JPG

Kevin joined us for a bit until it was time for him and Amy to head off.

IMG_2951.jpg

I went upstairs to get dressed and make my bed.  Back downstairs Christy fed the birds and we had breakfast.

IMG_3947.JPG

I couldn’t decide what to have. I got sick mid-workout yesterday and I think it was having breakfast too close to working out. So I just had a Chobani yoghurt – actually I only ate half.

IMG_3951.JPG

I got the clothes hung out. It’s quite windy today so everything had to be pegged on.

IMG_2965.jpg

The pups and I then walked Christy to school. It was nice and sunny but the wind was rather chilly.

IMG_2961.JPG IMG_2964.jpg

Back home I got on with today’s workout by Valerie Waters.

IMG_3956.JPG IMG_3957.JPG

Came out to find the pups like this.

IMG_3958.JPG

Then time to shower and get dressed. No make-up today as I’m only out to the vets.

IMG_3959.JPG

Before leaving I made a green smoothie and added in the rest of Chobani. Bailey always insists on licking the container.

IMG_3971.JPG

I had planned to only take Rosie but Bailey was not impressed so I took him along for the ride. First stop was the Salvation Army to drop off some donations.

IMG_3978.JPG

The pups were excited when we arrived at the vets. So much so that Bailey tried to climb out the window (to come with us) so I had to put it half up.

IMG_3982.JPG

Rosie’s tummy was a bit swollen and Kevin wanted me to get it checked out. Turns out to be fluid retention for the medicine she was on. She had gone from 27kg to 29kg in just 3 weeks!!! No treatment which is good.

IMG_2967.jpg

Time to head back home.

IMG_3984.JPG

I prepared a snack….

IMG_2969.jpg

and started on sorting some old paperwork piles. And yep, that photo is a very young Kevin.

IMG_3985.JPG

This is my view from the desk.

IMG_3987.JPG

Unfortunately I didn’t get too far into it before I had a phone call from Christy’s school that she was unwell and wanted to come home, so I went to pick her up.

IMG_2971.jpg

Came home and made a falafel salad for lunch.

IMG_3990.JPG

I got a text from Amy to pick her up from the mall so I got to work on preparing the banking for the school uniform shop. I left Christy playing on her laptop.

IMG_3999.JPG

I met Amy and did the banking, before visitint Big W and Coles – for yet more groceries.

IMG_2973.jpg

Luckily I had bought in the washing before heading out…

IMG_3992.JPG

as it started raining just as we arrived home.

IMG_3995.JPG

I had to rearange the fridge to fit everything in.

IMG_3996.JPG

Then prepared an afternoon snack of an apple and mandarin.

IMG_3998.JPG

At 5pm I headed upstairs. It was certainly was a yucky end to Winter. A little different to the view from my desk just a few hours earlier.

IMG_4004.JPG

An early bath time with a 1/2 lush egg.

IMG_4002.JPG

which made for a yellow bath (not the best colour), which I enjoyed while watching YouTube.

IMG_4005.JPG

Into my PJs and I complete my evening skin care routine.

IMG_4006.JPG

Then back into the kitchen to prepare some overnight oats.

IMG_4008.JPG

and make dinner. The girls are at Nan’s (being Friday night) and Kevin is having leftovers.

IMG_4009.JPG

So I had a very healthy meal of quinoa, stirfried veggies with some quorn fillets. Yum! I’m just so in love with brussel sprouts at the moment.

IMG_4010.JPG

Kevin and I then settled down to watch a few episodes of Breaking Bad, which we’ve just started watching. Later I enjoyed the second half of this little rocky road bar, which I’d had a craving for thanks to Lisa. I’m sure it wasn’t as good as her homemade one but at least this only had 2 serves :-). I’m thinking Rosie might have wanted some.

IMG_4014.JPG

About 9.30pm we headed up to bed and I read some blogs before going to sleep. I need to find a good book to read.

A day in my life – 15th August, 2012

Goodness me I can’t believe we’re half-way through August already. That’s crazy! I woke about 6.30am which was a bit of sleep in for me. I had a tea and laptop time. Kevin and Amy left. I headed upstairs to shower and get dressed. Unfortunately I’m in the midst of an arthritis flair so everything gets done more slowly than normal.

IMG_2825.jpg

I woke Christy up but she wasn’t feeling well and was staying home again (she had yesterday off as well). I wrote up todays to-do list.

IMG_2829.jpg

I didn’t have time for breakfast so just had a perfect fit shake.

IMG_3751.jpg

I made Christy some toast for breakfast. She was playing a word game.

IMG_3756.JPG

At 8.15 Mum came over and I collected my basket for the uniforms shop.

IMG_3757.JPG

It was pretty quiet today so we left just after 9am.

IMG_2832.jpg

Back home I had my breakfast – English muffin with tomato sauce and cheese. Plus a green tea.

IMG_3758.JPG

Then it was time to head out again for Christy’s doctors appointment.

IMG_2833.jpg

It ended up being a LONG wait of over 40 minutes. Christy had no games on her i-pod so had to resort to looking through a Nat Geo magazine.

IMG_2834.jpg

Afterwards we went to the chemist and I came away with a few goodies. Love these gardening gloves – I’ve had this brand before and they are great. Not too long till we plant our veggie garden.

IMG_3760.JPG

Back home I visited Mum for a bit and collected a parcel that had been delivered while we were out. Then I discovered my boy had been a little bit naughty.

IMG_3761.JPG

I tried on the new clothes I had ordered from Ezibuy. Need to swap a few sizes and return a pair of trousers, otherwise I’m very happy with what I got.

IMG_3764.JPG

The dogs chose to lie in a very awkward position (for me).

IMG_3763.JPG

Time for lunch. Today I had leftover country grain casserole.

IMG_3766.JPG

I was still in a lot of a pain so had a bit of rest until 2pm when I had to go get some groceries.

IMG_3770.JPG

I’d been putting it off since Monday due to pain. Luckily it wasn’t too big a shop.

IMG_2836.jpg

I had time to go and get chai lattes for Amy and me….

IMG_2837.jpg

before collecting her off the bus.

IMG_2838.jpg

Back home I put away the fridge/freezer stuff and the fruit and veg.

IMG_3771.jpg IMG_3786.JPG

Then went outside to feed the chickens and collect their eggs.

IMG_3773.JPG

The fence broke on the weekend while we were away. Luckily the neighbours barricaded it up somewhat as they have 2 little dogs (and we have 9 chickens).

IMG_3776.jpg

Bailey likes to visit with the chickens and today decided to have some of their water. The medicine they are on makes them incredibly thirsty.

IMG_3780.JPG

Time to get the kitchen back in shape.

IMG_3784.JPG

And make a quick easy dinner as my legs and arms were killing me. We had a crispy quorn fillect, sweet potato, corn and asparagus & brocollini.

IMG_3787.JPG

Later on while watching a show about the Black Death (as you do) we enjoyed some popcorn. We then watched the rest of the closing Olympics ceremony (our original recording only got the first hour!!!!)

IMG_3790.jpg

For some reason Rosie decided Kevin’s legs were a good place to hang out tonight.

IMG_3792.JPG IMG_3795.JPG

I put Christy to bed at 9pm and the rest of us stayed up till 10pm watching the closing ceremony. Can’t believe it’s all over, though I still have the mountain biking to watch.

A Day in My Life – Friday 13th July, 2012

I’ve been getting up early again so I was awake around 5am. The usual dogs out, tea drunk, blogs read, dogs sleeping, etc.

IMG_3374.JPG

Being a day at home during the school holidays it was a very lazy morning. Eventually I made myself a jaffle for breakfast.

IMG_3376.JPG

The girls appeared and headed for their computers. As you can see Amy is on pinterest, which she loves.

IMG_3377.JPG

I showered anddressed and attended to the normal morning jobs, before making some potato and leek soup.

IMG_3378.JPG

Next it was time to hang out the sheets – washing both the girls bedding today.

IMG_3379.JPG

Then I did a clean up of the pantry and fridge.

IMG_3380.JPG

I then headed down to the shops. I took some photos with my i-phone but with both computers being out of action, some photos are not currently available.

IMG_2576.JPG

I went to the chemist, the supermarket, bakery and fruit shop. Come home and unpacked and made a wrap for lunch. Christy & Amy had some of the soup.

IMG_3383.JPG

After lunch I took some straw out to the chickens.

IMG_3384.JPG

And since it had been such a warm day I was able to bring in the sheets and make up the girls beds.

IMG_3385.JPG IMG_3386.JPG

Then I walked into my bedroom and found this…. naughty Bailey…

IMG_3387.JPG

I was feeling a bit sore this afternoon so didn’t do much. Christy was working on a Halloween countdown calender and Amy one for Disneyworld.

IMG_3390.JPG

Eventually they headed of to Nan & Pops for Friday night BBQ. I made the dogs some dinner.

IMG_3394.JPG

And when Kevin got home I served our dinner – which was a premade Organic Veggie Korma and leftover rice. I did take a photo (but it’s one of the missing ones). We watched Flying Wild Alaska and when Christy came back (Amy was sleeping over) we watched the last 2 episodes of Got to Dance UK.

IMG_3398.JPG

And I was so excited that my favourite group Prodijig won!!! They are so awesome. Please watch if you haven’t seen them before.

http://youtu.be/gt9llk27w-Y

It was after 10pm before CHristy and I headed to bed (Kevin had gone earlier) so it was straight to sleep after reading a few pages.

A day in my life – 1st July, 2012

Even though it was a Sunday morning I was still up around 5.30am. Today I had not only my laptop but my ipad as well. Our internet connection is rather slow and it’s easier to watch youtube on the ipad (though the quality is poor).

IMG_2416.jpg

Around 7.30am I went to check on Lucky – who we have sleeping in a carrier – and discovered she had already laid her egg for the day – so she was free to go and join her sisters outside. Not sure if I mentioned we’re not allowed to eat her eggs for 4 weeks due to the anti-biotics she had.

IMG_2417.jpg

Eventually Kevin appeared and got a big welcome from Rosie.

IMG_2418.jpg

We decided we’d go and see a movie so I got online and booked our seats. We scored one free and had a gift card so it didn’t end up costing us anything.

IMG_2424.jpg

When I went upstairs to get changed I found Bailey on our bed – naughty boy. He looks really mean in this pic :-).

IMG_2427.jpg

As you can see it was a gorgeous looking day out.

IMG_2428.jpg

I bought the washing down and put on a load before having some fresh juice (I’d made it yesterday and then not felt like it). Looks horrible but tastes great.

IMG_2432.JPG

Then it was time to take the pups on a walk to the lake.

IMG_2433.jpg

It was nice walking there but a bit cold on the way home as I was walking into the wind.

IMG_2434.JPG

I found Christy having breakfast while playing zoo tycoon.

IMG_2437.jpg

I headed upstairs again to shower and get ready to go out.

IMG_2438.jpg

I quickly hung out the washing, grabbed a banana as I was hungry, and we headed off. And for once we left a few minutes early!!!  We got some Subway to have for lunch in the movie.

IMG_2442.jpg

And the chosen movie? Brave – which I was very excited to see. A Disney Scottish historical movie. How perfectly me!

IMG_2443.jpg

And we all loved it. Love a heroine who doesn’t need Prince Charming to save her and put things right. Though I did miss the romance :-). We had planned to have some afternoon tea at a new Max Brenner that has opened at Shellharbour but Christy had a blister on her foot and Kevin was feeling rather unwell so we decided to save it for another day. On the way back we did a quick stop for some groceries.

IMG_2445.jpg

Not sure what was going on with this display but I loved the cow balloons.

IMG_2448.jpg

Since we’d missed afternoon tea we decided to get a block of chocolate to share. We stood looking for plain dairy milk for ages before we finally realized it was in “green” packaging. It just looks so wrong not in purple packaging!

IMG_2449.jpg

Back home Kevin headed up to have a bath since he was feeling so bad, so I decided to do some ironing while watching youtube.

IMG_2450.jpg

Got it nearly all done, then hung out on the couch.

IMG_2451.jpg

Afternoon tea was a chobani yoghurt – still in love with this stuff.

IMG_2452.jpg

Then later Amy made us some popcorn.

IMG_2453.jpg

Kevin surfaced after a snooze feeling a lot better, so we got started on tonights dinner. We had planned to make a fresh pizza base but instead got this one out of the freezer. It was made in Italy so it should be good.

IMG_2454.jpg

We decided to keep the toppings simple with just pizza sauce, organic tomatoes and mozerella cheese.

IMG_2455.jpg

It was fabulous. Will definitely buy more of the bases as they are kept in the freezer.

IMG_2456.jpg

We enjoyed our dinner while watching Museum Secrets. This episode was on the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, which we’ve actually been to.

IMG_2457.jpg

Afterwards we watched a few episodes of Modern Family (we started watching all the series again and are now on series 2).

IMG_2460.jpg

We all headed to bed around 9.30pm (though Amy had gone about an hour beforehand) and I did a bit of reading before going to sleep around 10pm.
