A Day in my Life – 31st Jan, 2012

Can’t believe one whole month of the year has already passed by. That’s crazy!

I was up around 6am. Bailey often likes to lie out in the morning and will come back and wait at the door when he’s ready to come in. Often when I just sat down with my cup of tea!

IMG_1395.JPG

I have my pain meds and fish oil while waiting for the kettle to boil.

IMG_1398.JPG

Around 7am Kevin and Amy depart – it’s Amy’s first day in year 8 but I’m not allowed to take a first day of school photo.

IMG_1399.JPG

After they leave I go up to wake Christy – Bailey helps. She isn’t feeling the best so goes to have a bath.

IMG_1404.JPG

I then shower and dress, make the bed and collect the girls washing.

IMG_1406.JPG

Christy requests french toast for breakfast. I have a half a bagel with cheese and another cup of tea.

IMG_1408.JPG

Time to check e-mails.

IMG_1409.JPG

I go outside to hang out the washing. Christy is watching a bit of Harry Potter while eating breakfast.

IMG_1410.JPG

The pups take advantage and lie in the sun for a bit.

IMG_1411.JPG

I need to use both clothes lines today.

IMG_1412.JPG

Next is a trip to the chemist to get some medication for Christy.

IMG_1419.jpg

Bailey has to come along.

IMG_1418.JPG

Looks like a lovely day.

IMG_1421.JPG

Shortly after I return Christy decides she’s feeling better and will go to school.

IMG_1429.jpg

When I return I get started in this room. Mum comes to help me.

IMG_1426.JPG

And 90mins later it looks like this…

IMG_1435.JPG

IMG_1427.jpg IMG_1432.jpg

I still have more sorting to do but it looks a LOT better and you can actually walk around the room.

IMG_1437.JPG

Time for some lunch – my favourite falafel salad.

IMG_1439.JPG

Enjoyed while reading blogs.

IMG_1440.JPG

After lunch I take out some scraps for the chickens.

IMG_1445.JPG

And collect some eggs. We’re getting 2-4 each day now but some are still rather small.

IMG_1455.JPG

Time to do the uniform shop paperwork and count money while enjoying tea and a choc chip muffin.

IMG_1456.JPG

At 2.30pm I get changed and make myself look presentable.

IMG_1460.jpg

I drive into Wollongong to pick Amy up from school…

IMG_1465.JPG

and drop her off at the hairdressers for her appointment.

IMG_1479.JPG

When I get back home Mum has just returned from walking the dogs and Bailey has rather muddy feet. I hose them off for him so he can enter the house.

IMG_1468.jpg

I was chatting with Mum when I realized Christy and Shantel were already supposed to be at dancing so we raced out the door. On the way I got a call from Amy saying she was waiting to be picked up, so after dropping the girls off I went to get her. Doesn’t her hair look fabulous? She’s really happy with it.

IMG_1471.JPG

Amy got ready for dancing and I dropped her off. Kevin got home shortly after I did. And finally I got to sit and enjoy my naughty afternoon snack.

IMG_1473.JPG

Then at 6.40pm it was back up to the school to collect the girls.

IMG_1482.jpg

I was too sore to do much for dinner but we had some leftover pasta so I just heated that up with a jar of tomato sauce. Easy but yummy.

IMG_1474.JPG

After dinner the dogs had a crazy play session.

IMG_1477.JPG

And we settled down to watch the last episode of Whale Wars. Such a great series.  And having seen whales up close and personal in Alaska I’m so glad there are organisations like Sea Shephard getting out there and trying to stop whaling.

IMG_1481.JPG

At 8.30pm I took Christy up to bed for a story. We’re reading another Judy Moody.

IMG_1484.JPG IMG_1487.JPG

I then took off my make-up and did my nighttime beauty routine before heading back down to get a cup of tea and watch a bit more TV.

IMG_1489.JPG

About 9.45pm we headed up to bed and I started a new book – The Hunger Games. I’ve heard lots of good things about it and it really does seem to be living up to it’s hype.

A Day in the Life – 13th Jan, 2012

I was up about 6.30am, which is almost a sleep in for me. I let the dogs out and made a cup of tea. Bailey didn’t want to come back in so I left him outside for a bit.

IMG_1133.JPG

I spent time on my laptop, watching youtube videos and reading some blogs. Around 8am I got up and moving with my morning routine. I’m trying to get up to date with youtube so I half watched some while emptying the dishwasher.

IMG_1135.jpg

Then it was outdoors to water the veggie garden and collect a whole heap of tomatoes, a red capsicum and some strawberries.

IMG_1137.JPG

I also swept the back paved area and deck, which needed it after a windy few days.

IMG_1138.JPG

Next up was a shower. When I got out I found Christy and the dogs on my bed (which I had just made).

IMG_1139.JPG

Time for some makeup.

IMG_1147.JPG

After which I found Bailey like this.

IMG_1148.JPG

AT 10am Amy and I headed of to the doctors. I needed a referral and Amy was having some vaccinations (that she missed at school due to being away). She made the mistake of asking which injection (she had two) makes your arm swell up, so they kept her back for a few minutes thinking she might have a reaction, which is did not.

IMG_1151.JPG

On the way home we dropped off some goods to be donated and visited the local shop to get a few supplies. Then it was home to do todays household chores, like vacuuming.

IMG_1152.JPG

And hanging out the washing.

IMG_1155.JPG

Amy got all set up for a tea party she is hosting.

IMG_1156.JPG

I made us both falafel wraps for lunch and finally got to put my feet up for a bit.

IMG_1154.JPG

At 3pm Amy’s guest arrived. She had invited a few people but most hadn’t replied, and one forget to come. So it was just the 3 of them.

IMG_1159.JPG

I felt bad for her because she had gone to a lot of trouble but they all enjoyed themselves.

IMG_1158.JPG

The party continued with tea leaf reading.

IMG_1160.JPG

I worked on our Momento album for Fiji,

IMG_1162.JPG

while enjoying some afternoon tea.

IMG_1161.JPG

After the one guest left the Powells arrived for Sarah to sleep over. They stayed for a chat and cup of tea, and were about to leave when Kevin arrived home. We chatted for a bit longer and when they did leave I went tidied up the kitchen and got ready for the basketball. All the girls went over to Nan and Pops for dinner.

Kevin and I shared a salad wrap at the game.

IMG_1163.JPG

It was an exciting game. Not sure if you can make out the score but it was VERY close with just 2mins to go. It went down to buzzer with Rhys Martin (who had been the games best player) missing a 3 pt shot to win the game. I felt so bad for them. They play well for the most part but just can’t seem to win.

IMG_1167.JPG

When we got back from the game the girls were in the middle of a glee marathon, having just painted their nails.

IMG_1169.JPG

I tided the kitchen (again), went out to put one chicken to bed, made a cup of tea and headed to bad with instructions for the girls to go to bed at 10.30pm.

A Day in My Life – 2nd January, 2012

I didn’t wake up until 6.30am this morning. After a lot of early morning and late nights it’s catch up time.

IMG_7713.JPG

Kevin is home today being a public holiday and was busy playing warcraft. After the normal routine, including tea and blog reading, I attended to todays jobs which included feeding the chickens.

IMG_7715.JPG

Bailey likes to watch them as well.

IMG_7717.JPG

I found an egg laid by one of the new girls – not the most clever spot to lay an egg :-(.

IMG_7720.jpg

Back inside I found Christy making herself a jaffle for breakfast.

IMG_7721.JPG

I made a bagel with cheese for Kevin and I. Rosie had a sleep.

IMG_0983.JPG

Christy’s loose tooth finally fell out.

IMG_0984.jpg

About 10am Christy and I took the dogs for a run down to the lake.

IMG_0986.JPG IMG_0987.JPG

It was a glorious day – not a cloud in the sky – and it was nice to get outside for a bit.

IMG_0995.JPG

IMG_0998.JPG

Back home Kevin was at work installing some new shelves above the TV.

IMG_1003.JPG

They look great. And it’s nice having another place to display some of my nick-knacks.

IMG_1004.JPG

As you can see Amy was trying out our new kinect game – Disneyland.

IMG_1005.JPG

I headed to the kitchen to make some gingerbread muffins. 30mins later…..

IMG_1007.JPG

Christy was cleaning up after making ANOTHER jaffle, this time for lunch.

IMG_1009.JPG

I made the rest up a very healthy lunch ….. 🙂

IMG_1011.JPG

I got settled on the couch with Bailey…..

IMG_1014.JPG

and we watched Pirates of the Carribean 3….

IMG_1017.JPG

In the afternoon the wind picked up and blew my clothes line over. I had lot of washing today – 4 loads!

IMG_1019.JPG

Dinner tonight was tacos….

IMG_1021.JPG

while Bailey played….

IMG_1022.JPG

and Christy, Kevin and I watched Cars 2. We really enjoyed it and Amy would have too if she wasn’t too “cool” to watch it. Tweens!!!!

IMG_1023.jpg

After the movie I took Christy up to bed. She had her tooth and note for the toothfairy.

IMG_1026.JPG

Back downstairs I enjoyed a chocolate billabong while we watched a couple of episodes of Grimm before going to bed.

IMG_1027.JPG

A Day in my Life – 15th December, 2011

After having Kevin’s work dinner last night and not going to sleep until after midnight it was a slow start for me today – 6.30am :-).

First up the dogs out and a cup of tea in my Christmas mug, and some computer time. For the first time in over a week I don’t have to be out the door before 9am!

IMG_6793.JPG

Amy comes down just before 7am all ready for her school excursion to Jamberoo water park.

IMG_6779.jpg

Not long after Kevin and her leave.

IMG_6786.JPG

The dogs are wondering if they can go too :-).

IMG_6788.JPG

I head back to the couch and end up reading the Advertiser that Dad left here last night. I couldn’t tell you the last time I read the paper.

IMG_6797.JPG

Then it was time to feed the chickens…the babies are getting bigger by the day.

IMG_6802.JPG

This little one was having a dust bath in the sun.

IMG_6800.JPG

As you can see it’s a gorgeous day…. for a change.

IMG_6803.JPG

I watered the veggie garden and found these guys waiting at the door.

IMG_6805.JPG

Next up are the budgies.

IMG_6806.JPG

Do you like their Christmas decoration?

IMG_6807.jpg

I rescued two Christmas beatles that I found in the house.

IMG_6813.JPG

Then I headed upstairs. I made Amy’s bed and noticed how cute Rosie looked on her mat.

IMG_6818.jpg

I then helped Christy to tidy her room.

IMG_6821.JPG

Before making my bed, showering and getting ready for the day. No makeup today as I’m having a facial later on.

IMG_6823.JPG

More chores. First load of washing on.

IMG_6829.JPG

Then finally time for some juice for breakfast.

IMG_6830.JPG

Then it was time to take Christy to school. There was a stop work meeting till 11am which was why I managed to get so much done before leaving. Do you see Rosie in the window?

IMG_6836.JPG

Christy had a disco at school and they were allow to wear mufti.

IMG_6837.JPG

Bailey and I then headed home. We found Rosie where we left her.

IMG_6840.JPG

I got sidetracked sorting and tidying our spare/emergency pantry…

IMG_6841.jpg

when I moved Christy’s bike into the garage from the front entry, now that she won’t be riding to school everyday. Don’t think I’ve seen the front entry area looking so good for a long time.

IMG_6843.JPG

Next up time to tackle the papers on my desk…

IMG_6844.JPG

and add up the banking for the uniform shop.

IMG_6852.JPG

I got my bag and stuff sorted for the afternoon….

IMG_6853.JPG

and made a yummy taco salad for for lunch.

IMG_6854.JPG

Then it was off the local shopping center to bank all that cash, duck into Big W for some cotton balls and then…. I’m sure you know what happened next. I mean I had to walk right past it to get to my car.

IMG_6855.JPG

Then to Albion Park. I love driving down here  – it’s so pretty and there are cows :-). And it’s only 15mins from home.

IMG_6858.JPG

My destination – this building to pick up some more uniform dresses for school.

IMG_6860.JPG

Then back up the road where I was just a few minutes late for my facial. Felt so good to relax and be pampered.

IMG_6861.JPG

I was finished in time to pick up Amy and Christy. Back home Christy wanted to show me all her workbooks from school.

IMG_6866.JPG

At 4.3opm I took Amy up to dancing, then an hour later I took Christy. On the way we stopped to post a few letters.

IMG_6869.JPG

With being so busy lately I bought a few easy dinners in my grocery shop this week. Tonight was vegetable korma, basmati rice and nann bread. All I did was heat and serve. It was really good too.

IMG_6872.JPG

While we were finishing off Kevin got the dogs dinner and did a bit of training.

IMG_6873.jpg

Finally I got settled down to watch some TV and write out Christmas cards.

IMG_6874.JPG

I then watch an episode of The Hotel Inspector and made a cup of tea before putting Christy to bed and enjoying a cup of tea with my book (in bed)

IMG_6876.JPG

Lights out at 9.30pm. Not surprising after my last night and busy day. Can’t believe this time next week we’ll be in Fiji. I can’t wait.
