A Day in my Life – 30th September, 2011

IMG_5287.JPG

Surprisingly I managed to sleep in to nearly 7am (probably because I was awake for a few hours in the middle on the night). It was dogs out, kettle on, tea made and blogs read :-). Christy was up and watching TV, Amy having a shower and Kevin headed off to work.

IMG_5288.JPG

I made breakfast for Christy (toast) and tidied the kitchen….

IMG_5302.JPG

including doing some washing up….

IMG_5304.JPG

before enjoying my own breakfast…

IMG_5306.JPG

Christy is now in charge of giving the dogs their breakfast.

IMG_5303.JPG

About 8am I headed upstairs to make the beds, shower and get dressed. I only have to run a few errands, so just put on a little make-up and pulled my hair back.

IMG_5297.JPG

Then it was off the mall. It was a lovely looking day but it was rather chilly – just 16deg according to the car.

IMG_5319.JPG

I had my papers in order …

IMG_5315.JPG

I got distracted by Rockmans and ended up buying a couple of tops….

IMG_1221.JPG

Then it was the travel agents to pay the balance of our Fji trip, then the chemist to fill the script for my pain medication…

IMG_1218.JPG

Next was Woolworths for a few grocery items. I wanted to buy some flowers but they didn’t have anything nice :-(.

IMG_1219.JPG

Then the post office to pick a parcel from Brands Exclusive. While there I made an appointment for Christy’s passport (her’s expires early next year).

IMG_1220.JPG

Lastly it was Baker’s Delight for some bread.

IMG_1222.JPG

Then back home…

IMG_5317.JPG

where I found the girls playing on their computers….

IMG_5320.JPG

I put away the groceries and opened my box. It’s funny because I do order quite a bit from Brands Exclusive and it can take up to 8 weeks to arrive, I never know what I’m going to get. Today it was 3 handbags. I seem to have been on a bag buying spree lately – but they are all different colours/styles. These retailed for $60-$70 dollars each but I paid $20-$30 each.

IMG_5322.JPG

I also took my pain medication, and almost right away felt light-headed, which is one of the side effects.

At 11am Amy’s friend Milly arrived for a sleep over. In no time at all they were in the pool. The weather had warmed up slightly but it was too cold for swimming, in my opinion.

IMG_5324.JPG

I spent some time downloading some new music to exercise to.

IMG_5327.JPG

The girls made their own lunch- Christy made hers while wearing roller blades …. as you do :-).

IMG_5328.jpg

I hung out the washing…. and as you can see I had changed into one of my new tops..

IMG_5342.JPG

cleaned the kitchen table and glass doors…

IMG_5323.JPG

then made a falafel salad for lunch.

IMG_5329.JPG

I had planned to watch some youtube videos while eating…

IMG_5334.JPG

but Christy bought down her baby books and wanted me to go through them with her. It was a fun trip down memory lane. She was excited to learn the first movie she went to was Harry Potter.

IMG_5333.JPG

After lunch I took a cup of tea and one of the cookies the girls had made into the scrapbook room and did a few layouts.

IMG_5349.JPG

Around 4pm I played the Harry Potter lego game with Christy….

IMG_5358.JPG

and then went and did some ironing, while watching videos and eating some popcorn the girls had made.

IMG_5363.JPG

I head the chickens carrying on and found Bailey outside the laundry door (Milly had left him out there).

IMG_5365.JPG

It took a while but I got ALL the ironing done.

IMG_5366.JPG

I bought the washing in and hung up the beach towels. It was then time to have a bit of a relax. The girls did some face painting.

IMG_5368.JPG

I had planned for Kevin to cook BBQ for dinner but he was late coming home so I ended up just cooking things inside. We had some veggie burgers, potatoes, sweet potato, corn, brocollini and asparagas. It was help yourself and I totally forget to take any photos. After dinner I got into my PJs, took off my make up and painted my nails. Todays colour China Glaze’s Flirty Femininity.

IMG_5370.JPG

Then finally time to settle on the lounge with Christy, Kevin and the pups (Amy and Milly were watching Pet Cemetary).

IMG_5373.JPG

We watched Brother Bear, which I was really enjoying but found myself falling asleep.

IMG_5374.JPG

Before the end of the movie I had to head up to bed. I didn’t even read, just went straight to sleep. Not sure if it was because of the new meds, but I think so.

A Day in my Life – 14th September, 2011

Today started about 5.45am with the usual routine of dogs out, tea made and playtime on my laptop. I also made up a batch of banana muffins.. which promptly began to disappear…

IMG_5000.JPG

After Kevin & Amy left I went upstairs to shower and get dressed and make all the beds. Then it was time to make Christy some toast for breakfast…

IMG_5004.jpg

IMG_5005.JPG

while I enjoyed a half a bagel with hummus, cheese & tomato.

IMG_5006.JPG

I emptied the dishwasher, fed the birds and put them outside….

IMG_5007.JPG

watered my sprouts…

IMG_5009.jpg

which should be ready in a day or two….

IMG_5010.JPG

and packed my bag….

IMG_5008.JPG

Mum came over at 8.15am and we headed up to school for the uniform shop….

IMG_5012.JPG

Today we had to participate in an emergency fire drill…

IMG_1194.JPG

After uniform shop (where we fitted quite a few cute little (next year) kindy kids, we went to watch Christy’s “dance to be fit” demonstation. Wish we’d got to do fun dancing like this when I was at school.

IMG_5016.JPG

I dropped Mum back at home, got changed and collected the dogs….

IMG_5026.JPG

who I took to the dog wash. Now I have two very soft, yummy smelling dogs :-).

IMG_5029.JPG IMG_5030.JPG IMG_5031.JPG IMG_5032.JPG

Back home I spent some time entering all the new uniform orders.

IMG_5033.JPG

Then, since it was such a beautiful warm day, I decided to lunch out by the pool.

IMG_5035.JPG

IMG_5037.JPG

I only sat out for 15mins but it was very nice. I then pottered around doing a few things. And was pleased when a box from Amazon arrived…

IMG_5040.JPG

with a few books I had ordered….

IMG_5041.JPG

Just before 3pm I got a phone call from Amy to say she’d missed the bus home. Since Christy was expecting me to pick up at 3.15pm I told Amy she’d have to wait till 3.30pm. I collected Christy, who proceeded to eat the lunch she hadn’t eaten at school…

IMG_5042.JPG

then we drove into Wollongong..

IMG_5043.JPG

where we picked up Amy…

IMG_5044.JPG

before heading the local mall for some shopping. The girls wanted to pick prizes for Christy’s party this Saturday and lollies for lolly bags.

IMG_5048.JPG

I also had to go to the bank, post office, chemist, supermarket and fruit shop. Amy & I enjoyed some afternoon tea from Gloria Jeans…

IMG_5047.JPG

and Christy made a friend in JayJays while Amy tried on some clothes…

IMG_5046.jpg

Finally, at 5.30pm it was time to head home…

IMG_5049.JPG

Christy went outside for a bit of a play then they got to work on the lolly bags….

IMG_5050.JPG

I unpacked the groceries and pulled something out of the freezer for dinner….

IMG_5052.JPG

Pumpkin Cannelloni and corn – yum!

IMG_5053.JPG

After dinner I got the kitchen cleaned up, and found my family hard at work….. playing World of Warcraft…

IMG_5056.JPG

I got into my jammies and applied my new gel – for the scar on my back where I had the skin cancer cut out. $50 for this little tube!!!! It had better work !

IMG_5054.JPG

I watched “how to look good naked” then took Christy up to bed where we read a chapter of “Alice Miranda”. Back downstairs I enjoyed a chocolate billabong while watching Relocation, Relocation… but I only made it half way through before going up to bed, where I managed to read just a few pages of my book before going to sleep.

A Day in my Life – 31st August, 2011

Woke at 6am, got up and dressed and let the dogs out. So nice being so light in the mornings again.

IMG_4834.JPG

Then it was time for …..

IMG_4837.JPG

IMG_4840.jpg

We reached the lake just as the sun was coming up over the horizon. See the little speck.

IMG_4838.JPG

IMG_4839.JPG

IMG_4843.JPG

Back home I had a big drink of water and checked out pininterest.

IMG_4847.JPG

I said goodbye to Kevin & Amy, who headed off in the little loan car.

IMG_4850.JPG

went to wake up Christy….

IMG_4849.JPG

and had my shower and got ready for the day.
I then made breakfast for Christy and got mine out of the fridge.

IMG_4858.JPG

Now I know it doesn’t look very nice but I promise these overnight oats are delicious (and I’m not a cereal lover).

IMG_4857.JPG

Then it was to gather my bags…

IMG_4846.JPG

get in my car…

IMG_4862.JPG

and drive to school to run the uniform shop. We’re selling off the current stock so it was pretty busy and I didn’t end up leaving until after 10am

IMG_4861.JPG

I then went to the local mall where I visited two banks, two supermarkets, the fruit shop, the bakery and the travel agents (to get a brochure on Fiji). Then loaded up the car (totally forgot to take any photos while out shopping)….

IMG_4865.JPG

and headed back home…

IMG_4864.JPG

I parked the car and went next door to get the dogs who were at Nan & Pops.

IMG_4866.JPG

I was starving by now so grabbed a piece of fresh bread to tide me over until I got lunch made.

IMG_4867.JPG

I got the groceries unpacked and hung out the washing…

IMG_4868.JPG

I made myself a yummy salad for lunch using a pureed mango for my dressing.

IMG_4870.JPG

After lunch I went over to chat with Mum & Dad about our possible Christmas trip to Fiji. I was there for 3 hours……. Dad went and picked up Amy from the bus stop and collected Christy on the way back. Finally (at 5.30pm) I came back home and cut my flowers for the vases.

IMG_4871.JPG

Christy decided to make a volcano (as that’s what she’s doing at school)

IMG_4875.jpg

Then it was dinner time for the pups…

IMG_4873.JPG

and for us…. spuds with mexe-beans and cheese.

IMG_4874.JPG

After dinner I got the kitchen cleaned up, took my make-up off and got into my PJs. I then watched some TV with the girls (Kevin was playing on his laptop). By 8.30pm I was very tired (after having a bad nights sleep last night) so put Christy to bed and read to her, then headed off to bed for my own reading time.

A Day in my life – 15th August, 2011

I’ve been waking around 5am with sinus pain and unable to go back to sleep. Today was no exception. But at least I’m getting a good nights sleep. I let the dogs out and made a cup of tea.

IMG_4608.JPG

Christy came down around 6am. Amy & Kasumi were up and getting ready.

IMG_4616.JPG

I was feeling hungry so had part 1 of breakfast.

IMG_4626.JPG

I helped Amy organise lunches before they left just after 7am.

IMG_4618.JPG

I then made Christy some toast and went to have my shower and get dressed as the pool cleaner is coming around 8am. I then emptied the dishwasher and did some washing up.

IMG_4620.JPG

Christy headed off at 8.15am. I hung out our bedding and tidied downstairs. I got a phone call to say the pool man wouldn’t be here until 10am. I was a bit annoyed as I would have taken the dogs on a walk even though I’m not feeling good.

IMG_4625.JPG

Because I wasn’t well and had done a good clean on Thursday before Kasumi arrived I didn’t do my normal weekly home blessing. Instead I got the ironing all up to date and worked on about 4 loads of washing.

IMG_4624.JPG

After I ironed the tablecloth I put it on the table.

IMG_4623.JPG

The pool man eventually turned up and got to work – looking better already without all the leaves.

IMG_4627.JPG

I then cleaned out the fridge and chopped up some veggies ready to grab and eat, or grab and cook with.

IMG_4630.JPG

Doesn’t this look so colourful?

IMG_4631.JPG

I also tackled the crisper.

IMG_4637.JPG

Then made a nice salad with egg and pasta salad for lunch, which I enjoyed while catching up on youtube videos.

IMG_4639.JPG

After lunch I worked on printing out photos for Project Life and catching up on journalling – only about a month behind now :-).

IMG_4644.JPG

At 3pm I headed to the bus stop to pick up the girls and had a chat with Kay (who had left me a message saying she’d do the pick up but I didn’t read it!). The girls got changed and hung out with Kasumi. I gave the dogs their flea and heartworm treatment. Rosie hates the flea stuff and always runs away – I think it must tickle her back or she dislikes the smell.

IMG_4646.JPG

We then had a HUGE performance over getting Christy’s earrings out (the first ones they have are always so stiff) and putting some new ones. There was crying (from Christy) and yelling (by me). Not that you’d know it from this happy face.

IMG_4645.JPG

I put the clean sheets on our bed, gave the dogs their dinner and we headed back to Amy’s school (where we met Kevin) for the Sayonara Party for the Japanese exchange students. We were a bit lost when we arrived – not knowing anyone to talk to. The girls all went off to hang with their friends – Christy made a new best friend. But once we sat down for dinner we ended up having a good conversation with others about our experiences over the last 5 days.

IMG_4647.JPG

Dinner was pizza – I only had one slice as it was a thick base and rather greasy. The exchange students then sang We are the World and their school anthem. Kasumi is the one in the white jumper.  There were some speeches and crying, and they were given a bag of things from the school.

IMG_4649.JPG

I had to leave early to attend Christy’s school P&C meeting. And boy what a meeting it was tonight. So not fun.  We’ve been planning a new school uniform since last year but, of course, on voting night, we had some people come along not happy with the fact the school colours are changing. To my way of thinking life is about change. The vast majority of people love the new look uniform and I think the kids will look so much better. No white shirts to try and keep looking white!!! Yay. I came home so stressed. Even though I didn’t get into the whole arguement/debate I guess I take it a bit personally since I run the uniform shop and have been involved in the whole process. Glad it’s all over.  Back home I said goodnight to Amy and Kasumi – who had stayed up until I got back – and made a cup of tea. I was needing a little something so had an anzac cookie as well :-).

IMG_4651.JPG

I took them up to bed, proceeded to complain and whinge to Kevin about all the goings-on at the meeting. I then read for quite a while to calm me down and get my mind of the meeting and the fact at Kasumi leaves tomorrow – asI’m sad about that as well :-(.
