Operation Clean Up – The Laundry

Like many people I seem to have been bitten by the clean up & get organised bug. It’s hot and still school holidays here but it really is a good time for me to get stuck in and get stuff done. It’s 10 days till we go away and I’ve got roughly 10 rooms/areas to tackle.

Today I tackled the laundry. It was pretty disgusting. Cob webs, dog fluff, dust and dirt. I decluttered all the cupboards and drawers, cleaned behind & under the washing machine and even dusted the ceiling as best I could manage.

After: The basket on the right now contains lots of things to go upstairs. The one of the left is stuff still to be ironed.

And I finally got to sorting the batteries (I bought these containers about 6 months ago)

Thanks to a busy day cleaning and tidying I’m all ready for Halloween and our 4th Annual Halloween Party. But before the party I wanted to give you a peek at the decorating so far. These have been around the house for the last few weeks and we’ve got a few more things to go up for the party.

Spring Clean – Pool Pavillion

IMG_1812

When we started designing our home one request I had was a pool pavillion – I so loved the idea of them that we could hang out, read, relax while the kids played in the pool. Unfortunately we didn’t have the funds to make this a reality when we moved in so it became a kind of dumping ground for various bits and pieces of pool stuff and home to our pool lounges – which we always dragged out into the sun to dry out on after a swim.

This week my Mum decided we needed to finally tackle this “room” and so we went shopping. We had a very successful day with nearly everything we bought being on sale – the lounge was actually half price as it was the last one they had. I just LOVE the pavillion room and can’t wait to hang out in it. Kevin already put speakers and lights in the roof when it was built so it really should be a great place to be.

This cushion storage box houses all the pool stuff like towels, googles, flippers.

I just fell in love with these owls (I even bought one for my desk). Helps to distract from the fridge :-).

As you can see it’s already being used as it was intended.
