Amy had today off school. We were at the hospital at 8.30am for the first part of her bone scan (where they inject the tracer). She had a couple of quick “photos” then we were told to come back in a few hours. We then went for her blood test and then into town to do some shopping. I had to pick up my book for book group, we bought some kids craft stuff in Spotlight, stopped for a morning snack then headed back to the hospital. I read a scrapbook mag while the body scan was done – took about 50 mins all up. We then went back into town to do a bit more shopping (seems to be a bit of a theme around here lately) and have some lunch, then back to pick up Christy from school. It’s turned soooo cold here again – I need to go dig out my scarves that I’d just moved to the back of the shelf.

Children’s Laughter
What is about kids laughter that makes us smile? I ended up having 5 girls over all afternoon and they had such fun together (except when Christy had a MAJOR meltdown and had to be sent to her room to cool off). It was such a beautiful day outside and I was glad to see them taking advantage of the weather. Amy set up an obstacle course outside for them and they had fun doing that. They also dressed up, played doctors and nurses, did craft and who knows what else. While I didn’t get my time sitting outside enjoying the weather (not until about 5pm anyway) I still had a lovely day and got a bit accomplished around the house – including a great workout at the gym, a couple of bike rides (to take Amy to and from singing & drama), a scrapbook page, tidying the girls craft cupboard and making some treats for my Dad’s birthday lunch tomorrow.
Shopping, shopping and yet more shopping
Boy am I exhausted. But I had the best day (though my credit card might disagree). Amy had the day off school (it was her athletics carnival and she really wasn’t up to participating) so we went up to Miranda to go shopping. Most stuff I bought was for the girls, though I did get 2 skirts and a couple of tops for me and some much needed body moisturizer (they don’t make my favourite one any more so I have to try another one and both Amy and I left the store with the best smelling arms). I also got quite a few things for Christy’s birthday. So a very succesful day and it was really nice spending one on one time with Amy. We always used to have a day out in the holidays (when Christy was at preschool) but with Christy now at school we don’t have that. So I’m feeling very tired now and think since it’s been such a warm day (at 4pm it’s still 23 degrees/ 73 farenheit – pretty warm for a Winters day) I’m just going to make a salad for dinner – nice and easy.
Sweet Child of Mine
Tonight Christy and Amy were sitting watching Spirit (kids movie with horses) and I came through to find her crying cause one of the horses was hurt. She was so upset and I just thought it was so sweet. Apparently when I was away she cried watching The Wild as well so she must be a rather sensitive child. Guess that balances out her wild, naughty side :-).
